Different Cultural Ways

I understood from the summary that the young man’s father had died. But I thought the story was going to be more supernatural than it was. This was a great story. I wished most of us Americans had a more cultural way of dealing with death. My Dad died over 10 years ago. I could share the pain confusion anger with this young man. I really miss my Dad. Listening to this story helped me. The reader enhanced my listening to the story.

I found that the day-to-day or step-by-step details that normally could be tedious weren't in this story. The main female character's loneliness, helplessness, anger and strength were easy to identify with.

I loved everything about this. I grew up in a place very much like Lee County. I graduated high school in 1986. Man, could I relate. If you’re an 80’s small town kid or ever wondered how it really was for us, this one’s for you.

OMG she’s WHINY!!

I honestly didn’t think I was going to finish this book. This girl was so whiny. It made the story. Unbelievable. The story had good bones, but she really needs to work on making her female characters a little stronger. We need some better representation.

This book is the very reason I usually stay away from titles described with words like “queer, romantic, fantasy.” Just like this tile, they too to be unnecessarily explicit. It is a shame that authors feel the need to include such language in an otherwise delightful story. I skipped past the sections included in this book so I can finish it. However, I will not purchase anymore in the trilogy nor will I purchase anything else from this author.
