Historia
As one of the music world’s most iconic artists and the cofounder of the organizations ONE and (RED), Bono’s career has been written about extensively. But in Surrender, it’s Bono who picks up the pen, writing for the first time about his remarkable life and those he has shared it with. In his unique voice, Bono takes us from his early days growing up in Dublin, including the sudden loss of his mother when he was fourteen, to U2’s unlikely journey to become one of the world’s most influential rock bands, to his more than twenty years of activism.

Fantastic!

Enough with the F Bombs, they don’t add to a great story!

Good stories of my favorite band, definitely loved the vast majority of the chapters. I could do without the political stuff. I don’t particularly care for those who are not U. S. Citizens weighing in on the likes of Trump as though you have a say…a vote! It leaves a bad taste in my mouth actually. Do your advocacy work , fine, but don’t complain about what your dealt by the people with the voice. Lastly, money will not fix the problems your advocacy is trying to fix. Sin is the problem, lack of love ( the biggest sin of all of us) is the root of the problem. You know this deep down already. Advocacy for Jesus, something you’re quite familiar with, and good at when you want to be, should be front and center. After all, He won the victory, right.

We loved all of the Christian elements and mention of Jesus in a positive, real life context.

Texas Faith was a great story of a young man finding his own faith amidst challenging times on the post Civil War, Texas plains. God’s hand was demonstrated in ways that many of us can relate to albeit in a much different setting and time. As we met new characters, each one brought more to the story, pulling us deeper in. Although the ending was good, we were not even ready for it because we wanted more. The epilogue brought closure but we would love to see that expanded into another story of its own. Thanks Andy!
