Not quite what I expected

Good performance of a decent book, but it lacked something… excitement maybe? It was good enough that I didn’t want to abandon it and, it had a twist I wasn’t expecting, but parts of it were predictable, and the writing lacked an element of suspense that I was hoping for.

Creepy and Well Done

If you can handle the sometimes unappealing narration, this was an enjoyably creepy story. Slow-paced, but it doesn’t drag. If you like psychological thrillers, this one is for you. The ending wasn’t especially mind blowing but it was satisfying. If you like this you’ll probably love None of This is True as well.

What a richly written, captivating, and satisfying story! An all time favorite. It is one of the very few books to give me a “hangover”. Afterwards, for awhile, no other books could compare… they just couldn’t suck me in like this one did, which was so disappointing. Don’t let that stop you from reading it, however. Worth the future disappointment!

Captivating and Unexpected

I’m really glad I went into this book knowing nothing. It was unexpected, beautifully written, and the narration was wonderful as well. I hope, for those who are tempted to turn it off halfway through, push on with open minds and hearts. The authors’ notes at the end are also very interesting, especially the note about how this book was born.

Unexpected

Entertaining story. Surprise ending, even though I thought I had it all figured out. The narrator is good, but I’m not sure it “fit” the story being told. I laughed out loud a few times which is rare for me. Especially lovely if you are a fan of gardening!
