The greatest fear I had during my grieving was that I was losing control, going crazy, and might make decisions that would harm myself, my family, and my friends. This included suicidal thoughts, which scared the hell out of me. I was desperate to find answers. Quickly, I found those answers would be hard to find, as resources for widowers are minimal and often of dubious value. I'm on the right track.

It made me feel like I was doing just ok and to deal with things that come up from time to time. My journey has been a really tough one so just stay with me for a minute.
Almost 5 years ago we lost our youngest daughter at yhe age of 20 to complications from Cystic Fibrosis and a lung transplant. Right before her passing, my wife, our 3 other children and myself were able to have a priceless talk were she told us the following; don't greave me forever, live your lives and have fun. What an old soul she was and such a bright light to all.
About a year and a half later my wife was diagnosed with a rare cancer. She battled it for about 3 years and passed away last year. To this day I still go by what our daughter told us, don't mourn me forever, live your life and have fun.
I hope what our daughter told us helps others, I preach it quite often and people are still amazed on what she had said.
Life does get better, but in a different way for sure.
