Historia
We are navigating an era where digital interactions and political polarization are on the rise. Too often, the collateral damage is our emotional health. Isolation can kill people from the inside out. But there is an antidote. Through stories, analogies, and humor, I See You invites each of us to face the battle against separation head-on. As we commit to listen, protect, and love each other more fiercely, we will see those who need us most. People all around us are praying for relief. We can answer their plea. We might even be their miracle.

In the vein of Brené Brown
Revisado: 11-09-21
This book was a great! I strongly recommend this to all people. The content is anecdotal and not a studies based approach to communication (whether that is person to person or how we speak to ourselves.) This is not a "how to" book. This is a book that wants to remind the reader that they are valued. Just as importantly it reminds the reader that we enhance our value in learning to care for ourselves and those in our community. What I have said, may seem like a no brainer approach to life, but Julie Lee writes this information in a way that is tangible and most importantly memorable.

Historia
Since the publication of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland in 1865 and Through the Looking Glass six years later, Lewis Carroll’s nonsensical tales have delighted the world with wildly imaginative and unforgettable journeys. While charming children with a heroine who represents their own feelings about growing up, the Alice stories are also appreciated by adults as a gentle satire on education, politics, literature, and Victorian life in general.

Frustrating Volume
Revisado: 10-31-21
Christopher Plummer does a a great job narrating this book. The voices and the accents are superb. However, and this is a big HOWEVER, the voice that he does for Alice although we'll done, is so timid and quiet that you strain yourself to hear what she is saying. so you turn the volume up. Then when he does just about any other voice it is so loud and boisterous that at times it hurts your ears. And when there is a constant back and forth it is extremely frustrating. Your ears are getting blown out, or you can't hear half the dialogue. This is nothing against Mr. Plummers narration. This is more a complaint against whoever produced the recording. I could be wrong, but there has to be a way that this could have been recorded better. I tried to finish it, but I couldn't do it. It's a shame. I feel like Mr. Plummer put in a great effort for the audience and whoever did the audio just didn't care enough about the end product.

It comes down to you.
Revisado: 06-01-21
Good book on reminding you that you are the sum of many parts and not just one aspect of your life. Not so much a "how to" on becoming successful, but more of a "how to" on opening your mind to see successful opportunities, which is wise, as we all see the world differently and as such, will find different modes to success.

Great concepts
Revisado: 07-25-20
There are many good points made in this book. I think that not all of us will be able to do all that is suggested as far as limitations in different careers. However, I do believe that a lot of the concepts expressed in this book have value and can be adapted to each individual to help affect the change that is proposed.

Eating is an indispensable human activity. As a result, whether we realize it or not, the drive to obtain food has been a major catalyst across all of history, from prehistoric times to the present. Epicure Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin said it best: "Gastronomy governs the whole life of man."

Best book of the decade. (if that's from 2010-2020 for sure. 2020- 2030 I'd still stand by it!) I go through a lot of books averaging 60-90 a year. Many in this topic. Positive and down to earth. Funny and approachable information. Kevin Hart has instilled this with such honesty that I hope it finds many people receptive to it's message. Highly recommend.

Martyrs to hypochondria and general seediness, J. and his friends George and Harris decide that a jaunt up the Thames would suit them to a ‘T’. But when they set off, they can hardly predict the troubles that lie ahead with tow-ropes, unreliable weather-forecasts and tins of pineapple chunks – not to mention the devastation left in the wake of J.’s small fox-terrier Montmorency.

Historia
Emmy Award-winner Jonathan Winters proves once again that he was one of the greatest performers to ever grace this galaxy. His impersonations of famous personalities, from Jimmy Carter to Marlon Brando, will put you away - which Jonathan said is, after all, what they did to him. We thank Jim B. Smith for being wise enough to purchase one of the very first telephone answering machines in the 1980s. As Jonathan Winters' best friend, Jim knew that doing so would provide Jonathan a 24-hour-a-day performance platform.

Not quite what I was looking for.
Revisado: 12-07-18
I would give this three and a half stars. There are good points to this book. I suppose part of my struggle with it is that I was looking more for a guide book or tips to help one become more present and in the moment. Instead it felt more like you are listening to the authors journey. Kind of like reading her journal I suppose. As I said there are still good points to it, but I was looking for something more instructional.
