Pure joy
Revisado: 05-13-24
Gaiman’s voice, his gentleness, his way with words and emotions - these chapters of his mind are a warm blanket of love and comfort. They made me laugh and cry and yearn and thank God for sharing him with us.

Historia
Ensign Andrew Dahl has just been assigned to the Universal Union Capital Ship Intrepid, flagship of the Universal Union since the year 2456. Life couldn’t be better…until Andrew begins to pick up on the facts that (1) every Away Mission involves some kind of lethal confrontation with alien forces; (2) the ship’s captain, its chief science officer, and the handsome Lieutenant Kerensky always survive these confrontations; and (3) at least one low-ranked crew member is, sadly, always killed.

Over and over again
Revisado: 02-13-23
This one is always downloaded on my phone. Wil’s voice is soothing and the story is bitter, sweet, funny, and thought provoking. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve listened and how many times I’ve quoted it. John Scalzi, “you didn’t disappoint.”

Historia
For five grand a month and a million-dollar chaser, Roger Mulligan didn't care how crazy the old geezer was. All he had to do was keep Joseph Perry Shackleford alive and keep him from squandering the estate for a year. But they didn't tell him about the pixies.

Delightful and comfy listen
Revisado: 01-17-23
Tom Taylorson just vaulted into my top five as a narrator. The story is whimsical and soothing, with just enough tension in the plot to keep you “worried” for the lovely ensemble. The pace might be slow for some, but it’s a curl—up-in-a-blanket-with-a-cup-of-tea story. A gentleness that reminded me of the feeling I got from The Princess Bride. Smile and sigh, then refill my cup.

Miss the drawl.
Revisado: 08-06-19
The story is all right, but definitely feels like Larry Correia didn’t write it. The continuity with the series is consistent.. The narration is not good ... not right. No southern drawl. No intensity. It feels like Bailey Carr didn’t listen to the rest of the series before starting her book. AND SHE MISPRONOUNCES LEAD CHARACTERS’ NAMES!!!!! Please redo it with Oliver Wyman!

Surprised, though I shouldn't have been.
Revisado: 02-23-14
If you could sum up Dead Six in three words, what would they be?
Riveting. Satisfying. Transcending.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Both leads. They were remarkably human and tenacious.
Which scene was your favorite?
When the two trains (story lines) collide.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
YES! Stayed up too late a couple nights and got cranky at work when interrupted.
Any additional comments?
I was put off by the description, but since I love MHI and the Grimnoir, I checked out a couple of the other reviews and was convinced to give it a try. I bought three other books at the same time. Tried two of them and didn't make it ten minutes into either of them. I started Dead Six and was hooked two minutes in! I'm sorry, Larry. I should never have doubted you!

A not-so-friendly wager between the rival companies turns into a race to see who can bag the mysterious creature first. Only there is far more to this particular case than meets the eye, and as Hunters fall prey to their worst nightmares, Owen Zastava Pitt and the staff of Monster Hunter International have to stop an ancient god from turning Sin City into a literal hell on earth.

Lining with MHI this week
Revisado: 10-03-12
Where does Monster Hunter Legion rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
In the top five with the Grimnoir, Dresden files, President's Vampire, and Iron Druid. Hmmmm, seeing a theme emerging. Oh, and Cabin Pressure for comic relief.
What does Oliver Wyman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The voices are perfect. Distinctive and fit the personalities.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. I was listening at work and got way too grouchy when people interupted me. Oops.
Any additional comments?
Can't wait for book 5! Every time a new book comes out, I revisit the whole series in order. What a treat!

Makes politics fun
Revisado: 09-29-12
What did you love best about Red, White, and Blood?
What a great series. Makes the day of sewing go by quickly, but makes interruptions really, really annoying!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Listened at work, in the car, at the grocery store, went home and listened to it instead of watching tv.
Any additional comments?
When they make the movie, Jim Caviezel should play Cade!
