I didn't know anything about Juneteeth. I learned a lot. I thought the personal lens that the historical events were told really brought everything to life.

My mother used to plan questions to talk about during meal times. Her method was not as planned out as Jan's. I love this approach and plan to use it at work and in my personal life. Thanks for writing a great book.

One of his best
Revisado: 11-27-21
I have read most of Andrew Klavan's books, but this may be my favorite. The characters are so real and written with such care. So many movies and TV shows are hard to watch because I don't like any of them. But I care about everyone in this book. Please keep writing about the main character. I can't wait to find out what happens to him.

Historia
A New York Times Top 10 Book of the Year and National Book Award finalist, Pachinko is an "extraordinary epic" of four generations of a poor Korean immigrant family as they fight to control their destiny in 20th-century Japan (San Francisco Chronicle). In the early 1900s, teenaged Sunja, the adored daughter of a crippled fisherman, falls for a wealthy stranger at the seashore near her home in Korea. He promises her the world, but when she discovers she is pregnant - and that her lover is married - she refuses to be bought.

Great picture of 75 years of Korean history
Revisado: 11-25-18
I really loved learning so much about the experience of Koreans. In that way it was a truly interesting tale. However, there wasn't a lot of narrative to the story. There are so many characters to follow over such a long period of history. I'm not sure what I was supposed to get from the story.
