Historia
Everything about Lilah Stohler is dark: her clothes, her mood, and her outlook on life and death. That last part is important because Lilah’s father has just retired and left her in charge of Stohler’s Funeral Home. But Abel Stohler knows his daughter’s comfort level rests “downstairs”, so he hires one Sparkle Lee Sink to help Lilah manage the living part of the business of death. Sparkle is everything that Lilah isn’t—an empathetic marketing whiz who is a true people person.

Historia
From a young age, Cobie Galloway made a career of playing the girl-next-door on the silver screen. Only, she's not a teenager anymore. Pop star Lila Wilder built a multimedia empire by always having her finger on the pulse of what's hot. However, as she struggles to produce her next smash hit record, she's finding it hard to keep her name in the public eye. Both women tentatively agree to a headline-grabbing fauxmance, with two simple rules: Always stick to the script, and never forget that on the stage of public perception, nothing is real.

Good story
Revisado: 12-31-23
The story was good but I had a hard time rooting for Lila. She was a very abrasive person although I understand why she was that way. The problem was the narrator’s voice. Her portrayal of Lila was so difficult to listen to. Also, at times it sounded like she was just reading the lines and not acting. This is the second book I have listened to with her and I’m sorry to say that it will be the last no matter how much I prefer the audiobook for some titles. And I do feel guilty complaining. Usually I would sooner not review something that be negative but there are actors better suited for fictional works that should be getting these parts.

Twisty and compelling
Revisado: 12-28-23
Sharon Bolton never fails to provide a great story and this one did not disappoint. Listening to the audiobook edition only enhanced the tension of the story. Both narrators were great and propelled the story along making it impossible to stop listening.

Historia
Everyone around Iris Kelly is in love. Her best friends are all coupled up, her siblings have partners that are perfect for them, and her parents are still blissfully married. And she’s happy for all of them, truly. Iris doesn’t want any of that—dating, love, romance. She’ll stick to her commitment-free hookups, thanks very much, except no one in her life will just let her be. Everyone wants to see her settled down, but she holds firmly to her no dating rule. There’s only one problem—Iris is a romance author facing an imminent deadline for her second book, and she’s completely out of ideas.

This was most definitely the best of the Bright Falls series and I credit Iris and Stevie for that. Excellent narration from Kristen DiMercutio as usual.

Historia
Numbers rule Dr. Mei Sharpe’s life. She has no husband, one friend, two daughters, and three random meetings with the same woman within four weeks. Once is chance, twice is coincidence, but upon the third meeting, even Mei in all her empirical rigidness must admit that perhaps the universe is giving her a nudge. A nudge that lands her directly in the path of Lieutenant Morgan Kelly—an affable, charming detective for the Sheriff Department’s brand-new cold case team working down the hall from Mei’s morgue.

Perfect book with perfect narration
Revisado: 11-02-23
I loved everything about this story. The characters were unique, lovable and diverse. The dialogue was witty and the banter was superb. I truly enjoyed the cultural references and the age gap element. Cindy Kay’s narration brought the characters to life. I cannot imagine Morgan’s voice spoken by anyone else. I really hope I start seeing her name a lot more because she ranks right up there with the best of the voice actors on Audible.

Historia
When Sarah Taylor arrives at the exclusive St. Ambrose School, she’s carrying more baggage than just her suitcase. She knows she’s not like the other girls—if her shabby, all-black, non-designer clothes don’t give that away, the bottle of lithium hidden in her desk drawer sure does. St. Ambrose’s queen bee, Greta Stanhope, picks Sarah as a target from day one, and she is relentless in making sure Sarah knows what the pecking order is. Thankfully, Sarah makes an ally out of her roommate Ellen “Strots” Strotsberry, a cigarette-smoking, devil-may-care athlete.

Well-written and beautifully narrated
Revisado: 07-17-23
This story would have been excellent based on plot and character development alone. But the prose took it to another level. I particularly enjoyed the sometimes snarky and sometimes overwhelmed stream of consciousness musings of the main character. The narration was superb and really did justice to the descriptive and somewhat frantic voice of the MC. I have added Gail Shalan to my list of favorite Voice Actors to help when deciding between audio or Kindle books.

Historia
Have you ever walked home at night, keys in hand, ready to throw a punch in self-defence? That’s how it all started. The killing spree, I mean. I sort of tripped into this role. Literally. The first one was following me. That guy from the nightclub who wouldn’t leave me alone. I pushed him, he stumbled, and fell onto his own broken wine bottle. Oops. It was such a waste of a good house white. But now I can’t seem to stop and nor do I want to, I’ve got a taste for revenge and quite frankly, I’m killing it.
