Heartbreakingly Amazing!

This duet is by far my favorite from Pepper Winters...The Girl and Her Ren brought us love, heartbreak, jealousy, family and answered so many questions brought on by The Boy and His Ribbon. Both books were so well written and had such a unique theme- different than any theme I have ever read and they quickly became one of my Top series. I don’t want to say anymore because I read a review and it ruined the ending. I don’t want to spoil anything! Just take my advice, you will not regret it!

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK!!

This book was fantastic! It was so relatable, I am always so surprised at how well Mrs. Hoover captures her character’s struggles and can describe them exactly. I myself, struggled with inferty and had to have a hysterectomy at a very young age. This book hit the nail right on the head! How does she do that? Her ability to explain and bring her readers into the struggle of infertility was perfect and that right there is what makes a fantastic author!! I am so impressed by this book, it brought me comfort and I hope that it brings light to our world and those that say crude and hurtful things about infertility by complete accident, I hope this book enlightens them to a very real a difficult struggle that so many couples face. Thank you Colleen! This book was exactly what I needed.

HEARTBREAKINGLY WONDERFUL

This book...Pepper Winters really did such a fantastic job! I loved this book and I’m going to start reading the second even though I much prefer to listen but because this book was so great I HAVE to know what happens next!

Totally worth the credit!!! One of my all time favorites!!

Would you try another book from Sierra Simone and/or Stephanie Rose?

I honestly don't think I would read another of her books. I did not like this book at all! I have nothing good to say about it. It could have been such a great book - the story of a love triangle would have been great but the dominance and the disrespect for women made it so I could not finish the book. This woman is supposed to be a professor at Georgetown University - I would think she would be such a strong female yet she lets this man dominate and control her and she likes it! I have written and deleted this review 3 times now. I don't want to make it about me and feminism but I did not like it - not at all!!

What could Sierra Simone have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

It was such a good story with both men in love with the same woman. I did not like the dominance so I stopped when I couldn't take it anymore!

Where does Play On rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's one of my favorites! I love Samantha Young and I especially love her On Dublin Street Series. In Play On it feels like she made a smart return to Scotland and gave us that love story I was so desperately looking for! I love a book that can make you swoon, fall in love and then tear that love right out of your hands making you want to throw your ereader against the wall!! Samantha does this so well!! Of course I love the suffering of broken hearts, the angst of will they or won't they work it out! This book delivered that long searched for love story that I crave!!A very will deserved 5 stars!! This is one of my favorites and I will return to listen again and again because this is a rare gem...that book that you search for months to find!!LOVE IT!!!

Which scene was your favorite?

Probably when Aiden tells Nora off and is so brutal to her...you have to listen to know why, it was very well written and such an important part of their story.

YES!! It made my laugh, cry, swoon, angry...all of the emotions!!

READ IT!! LISTEN TO IT!! Narration is just as fantastic as the book!!

Good Book

This book was good. I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite but I really enjoyed it! I did think it was a little slow and it could have been a little more exciting but it was good and I recommend it.

The narration was fantastic!!!

This book was awful from the start! In fact, I didn’t finish it. The main character was so negative about EVERYTHING! I just couldn’t listen to another minute of it! Save the credit!!

LOVE

I titled this review LOVE because the only thing I am sure of after finishing this book is that it was full of love. Sometimes loving someone is the best feeling in the world and sometimes loving someone you cannot or no longer have is the most gut wrenching heartbreaking lonesome feeling a person can experience in this lifetime.
The Secret Wife is full of both of those feelings of love. I gave it 5 stars because, even though it broke my heart, giving it any fewer stars would be a dishonest review. It was full of a heart-wrenching longing love that so many novels written today are missing.
Gill Paul definitely captured my attention from the first chapter reading about two young lovers who had to hide their feelings from pretty much everyone around them. They couldn’t celebrate nor explore this love due to horrible times of war that end up separating them. I will not continue the story because I do not want to spoil it but it was one of such raw emotion from the beginning until the very end.
Gill Paul leaves me wondering if we can ever truly love another after we find that all-consuming love of our lifetime. And not only wondering if we can but is it fair? In a life that is so terribly unfair I fear we have no other choice but to grasp at happiness when it comes around and try to make the best of it.
I would recommend this book to everyone! It will stay with me for a very long time.
