Historia
If the Oceans Were Ink is Carla Power's eye-opening story of how she and her longtime friend, Sheikh Mohammad Akram Nadwi, found a way to confront ugly stereotypes and persistent misperceptions that were cleaving their communities. Their friendship - between a secular American and a madrasa-trained sheikh - had always seemed unlikely, but now they were frustrated and bewildered by the battles being fought in their names.

Excellent book, horrible narration
Revisado: 12-21-18
The narrator actually attempted to speak in voices with an Indian English accent for Re sheikh which I personally found offensive, high pitched tones for females, and deep voices for males. What are we 6??
The book itself is lovey, funny, touching, honest, and open. It’s refreshing to read about Islam for such a secular view as the author likes to call herself.

At least one-third of the people we know are introverts. They are the ones who prefer listening to speaking; who innovate and create but dislike self-promotion; who favor working on their own over working in teams. It is to introverts—Rosa Parks, Chopin, Dr. Seuss, Steve Wozniak—that we owe many of the great contributions to society.

Lo and behold, I am an introvert!!
This book has been a wonderful journey of fabulous storytelling (not an easy feat) and a trip inside myself. It has answered so many questions I had about myself; a pseudo-extrovert as Cain calls us. It helped me explain why I feel the way I feel in certain situations, why connecting to people is exhausting, why I learned to bottle up my feelings at an early stage, and why
