Sentimental at the end
Revisado: 05-22-22
Well told story until it becomes a bit sappy for the last quarter. This is less to my taste.

Why music?
Revisado: 02-11-22
For me is was very distracting. The score itself was boring; the musical tone rarely reflected the events of the story.

I am a huge fan of Michael J. Sullivan's Riyira books. I was expecting some humor so I was slightly disappointed.

What they don't know is that one of them is a killer. He's already chosen his next victim, and he'll do anything to protect his secret.

Skip this if your sensitive to performance quality
Revisado: 07-07-15
Would you try another book from Alex Marwood and/or Imogen Church?
The producers made a mistake in not hiring a male reader. The female performer is quite good for female roles and the narrative. Interpretation of male speech is painful.

Historia
It’s only a slight exaggeration to say that the British mathematician Alan Turing (1912-1954) saved the Allies from the Nazis, invented the computer and artificial intelligence, and anticipated gay liberation by decades--all before his suicide at age forty-one. This classic biography of the founder of computer science, reissued on the centenary of his birth with a substantial new preface by the author, is the definitive account of an extraordinary mind and life.

Historia
Returning to the vivid universe of Frank Herbert's Dune, this title continues the saga begun in Dune: House Atreides. As Shaddam sits at last on the Golden Lion Throne, Baron Vladimir Harkonnen plots against the new Emperor and House Atreides - and against the mysterious Sisterhood of the Bene Gesserit.

What happened to Scott Brick?
Revisado: 03-13-15
What was one of the most memorable moments of House Harkonnen: House Trilogy, Book 2?
Nothing to report here.
How could the performance have been better?
Performance was poor, it sounded preachy. There are accents used that sounded phoney. The accents might have bearing in our world but make NO sense in a culture millions of years in the future. These accents distract from the impact of the story.
Did House Harkonnen: House Trilogy, Book 2 inspire you to do anything?
Yes it inspired me to ignore the next book.
Any additional comments?
The story is decent if only told in a straight forward manner.

Who directed this?
Revisado: 01-16-15
Would you consider the audio edition of Dune to be better than the print version?
The story is excellent, especially with the additions of Kevin J. Anderson. Scott Brick's performance sounds whiny. Since I have heard good performances from Brick, I am inclined to blame the director.
Who was your favorite character and why?
NA
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Stop sounding preachy
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No

Beyond the main street of Les Laveuses runs the Loire, smooth and brown as a sunning snake, but hiding a deadly undertow beneath its moving surface. This is where Framboise, a secretive widow named after a raspberry liqueur, plies her culinary trade at the creperie, and lets her memory play strange games.

This in an exciting, well written story. The layers peel away exposing the core. The telling switches back and forth between the present (or nearly now) and World War II in France. The stories of now and before are both interesting.
