Historia
High school wasn’t a grand time for everyone, but when a group of friends decide to meet up at a B and B ahead of their 10-year reunion, old grudges resurface, and one of them ends up dead. Now the owners, a kindly older couple, are on the hook for the accidental death due to anaphylaxis, but they insist no mistakes were made on their part. Fortune is asked to look into the situation before the inept local sheriff railroads the couple or simply allows gossip to run them out of business, which will cost them their home. Swamp Team 3 heads to Voodoo Island to find a way to clear the couple.

I would love to see more
Revisado: 04-20-25
This series by Jenna Deleon and narrated by Cassandra Campbell have been the best 28 books I have ever read. Without giving anything away I would really love to see more but I understand why there may not be. The characters became a part of my life and I love every one of them. I laughed and I cried and I didn't figure out too many. Idabelle and Gertie are just amazing characters. Gertie's antics made me laugh out loud. But this last book was the best and I really did cry at the end and I'm crying now. I love you both Jenna and Cassandra, come back to us please.

It's Christmas in Sinful and Fortune is set to participate in all the local hoopla. A Christmas gala, caroling, and a sleigh ride are on the agenda. Murder is not. But when someone bumps off Santa, Fortune is aware a killer is lurking among the holiday cheer. But with no client and no reason to interfere with a police investigation, it looks as if Fortune, Ida Belle, and Gertie will have to sit this one out.

Best mystery series ever
Revisado: 03-11-25
This is the first review I have put in for this mystery series. The Miss Fortune Mysteries. I have been hooked and addicted from the start. I was so curious to see if there really was a town in Louisiana called Sinful, so I did a Google search. Jenna DeLeon has a website all about Sinful, she even has some pictures of some of the characters. I recommend you do that search and take a look if you are interested. I can't wait to start the next book, it's just one fantastic story after another. And I forgot to say, the end of this book, which I will not give away, was twist after twist and so emotional I could not help but cry at the end .I hope you love Miss Fortune's Mysteries as much as I do.

Wow, what can I say? This story was filled with humor, a bit of suspense and beautiful relationships. The narrator was excellent changing the voices and her Southern accent was right on. I can't wait to read the next one in the series.

Historia
Maine, 1789: When the Kennebec River freezes, entombing a man in the ice, Martha Ballard is summoned to examine the body and determine cause of death. As a midwife and healer, she is privy to much of what goes on behind closed doors in Hallowell. Her diary is a record of every birth and death, crime and debacle that unfolds in the close-knit community. Months earlier, Martha documented the details of an alleged rape committed by two of the town’s most respected gentlemen—one of whom has now been found dead in the ice.

Intriguing and exciting I need to finish my previous review
Revisado: 10-12-24
As I started in the other review accidentally hit the submit, I was caught up with Martha Ballard. I could actually see myself as her. As a retired nurse I was able to really relate to a great deal of her deliveries. I laughed, I cried, I became angry, I wanted revenge on these men who committed these rapes. I'm honestly not too sure a man reading this book would really enjoy it. And after listening to the author's note, I was astonished to realize that there really was a woman, a midwife by the name of Martha Ballard. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. If I could give it 10 stars that's what it would get. And Jane Oppenheimer was fantastic. Her narration was superb, she actually became Martha Ballard. Thank you Ariel Lawhan for writing this book. I will be reading more of your novels, thank you.

Too Dark, too much detail
Revisado: 10-02-24
Unfortunately I only got to chapter 4. Oh my goodness, too much detail on the serial killer and what he does to his victims. If you are the slightest bit quezzy, this book is not for you. Allison Brennan is a good writer, but this was too much violence for me. After listening to "North of Nowhere" this book was disappointing.

This book had me on the edge of my seat. From the very beginning to the very end! And the narrator was incredible. Her voice changes were spot on. Allison's description of Montana had me looking up the aera it took place in. Again, spot on. 👌

Revisado: 09-28-24
This book held my interest, excellent story writing. However, the narrator was horrible. Never changed her voice for any of the characters making it difficult to know who was speaking. I will listen to more of Allison 's books but not with this narrator. I was extremely disappointed 😞

The characters were amazing. Having the 3 narrators tell the story was very ideal. However I do have to say it was a bit long-winded, Could have been a little bit shorter. But all in all I enjoyed it.

This is the first of Kate Quinn's books that I have read. I absolutely loved the way each chapter was a character and each character was so completely different. The narrator was incredible, changing the voice for each person. I will be listening to more of Kate's books.

Excellent narration
Revisado: 07-18-24
The story was so fantastic, The narrator was excellent she was able to change accents and you knew which characters where were who. However without giving away too much of the ending I was disappointed not knowing any details on how they were able to escape from the train. The author goes into so much detail on how a lighter looks when it's lit or candle looks when it's lit yet she completely left out, to me the most important part. Perhaps this little detail will be covered in another one of her books.
