The FMC takes being a doormat to a new level. She was more like wall to wall carpeting. Her family was absolutely awful, and not funny at all.

Good story but not quite the fun rom

Other reviewers keep talking about what a fun read this was but there are way too many cancer deaths in this book to be a fun rom com. A heads up would have been nice for those of us dealing with the reality of those things.

One of the best

This book has everything! The story is beautiful and really resonated with me personally. The narration is perfect, I could not imagine anyone else doing a better job than Jason Clarke and Kit Swann did bringing these dynamic characters to life.

Annoying heroine

I just can’t like these characters. The heroine is beyond cringe worthy with her behavior from the beginning. It felt like the author wanted to create a certain kind of dynamic between them but forgot to write the story that way.

So good!

This story is so good, a wonderful addition to the TDH series that started with The Sexpert. I hope there will be more.

There are some absolutely hilarious moments, but also some really deep truths about trust and relationships. Pierce and Myrtle are flawed people and I got mad at both of them at various times, but never stopped loving them both.

Tad Branson and Anne Pepperidge provided the most wonderful narration I’ve heard in a long time, and I’m a voracious listener.

I hated for this one to end.

She did it again

Every time I finish yet another wonderful story from LJ Shen I think that’s it, she’s written the one that can’t be topped. How foolish am I to think this after all this time? The Monster is
simultaneously brutal and forgiving, harsh and hope filled, the picture of hate and love blurring all the boundaries.

The writing is superb, the narration...omg the narration. Jacob Morgan and Savannah Peachwood are always good but what they did in this book is next level amazing. Their performances are stellar and heartfelt. If I could give them triple the stars I would.

Thank you, dear author, for always pinning us to the edge of the icy balcony but never letting us fall. I trust you to make it all worthwhile.

Hilarious and hot

When a book is both hilarious and hot, that’s something to celebrate. There are so many laugh out loud moments, and Erin Mallon and Luke Daniels are perfection, I want to listen again, but it’s going to have to wait until I listen to the rest of the series. I’m hooked!

Delightful

This story was unique and realistic. It was a pleasant change to have an older couple but Mack and Hayden’s love still has the giddiness of 20 year olds.

Jason Clarke was excellent, adding a little extra gruffness and accent to Mack that was unexpected. It may be one of his best performances! This was the first book with Cindy Harden I’ve listened to and I can’t wait to find her in others. She made me a fan!

Utterly charming

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this book from the blurb. I had it in my library for a few months before listening, and I regret taking so long to get to it. It is at once charming, sweet, laugh out loud funny (the snow globes!) and thoughtful. It’s the book you didn’t know you needed.

Steve West puts in yet another top notch performance. He’s so expressive and gives each character respect in the way he voices them. No one feels overlooked.
