a must listen
Revisado: 11-03-23
The intro to this episode suggests you can skip it if you don't like combat, but I definitely recommend listening to it. I normally find combat a little boring but they really get up to some shenanigans that make me laugh and you don't want to miss it

Historia
I'm not who I used to be. Valentine Morningstar, my own father, tried to ruin my life, and instead he made me stronger. But my own power will consume me if I don't learn how to control it, how to channel it to help everyone, not just myself. I have to learn how to be this new person I've become. GC - my handsome false god, Pazuzu - my dark demon, Sariel - my fallen archangel, and Francis - my...I know what he is now, but it hurts to say it. They keep me grounded. They keep me sane, and they keep me good. Without them, I'm afraid I might just turn into a villain.

A truly wild ride
Revisado: 01-18-23
Let me start off: the series as a whole is a solid 6.3/10. That may sound low, but statistically means it's above average. I did, after all, complete the entire series. The story itself is very interesting, and I was invested in hearing about this world of supernatural in the shadows of the human world, and how it's essentially a giant mash up of tons of different mythologies, which I love. And the smut, which there is a LOT of, is well written enough and is some pretty good smut. If you don't like some very graphic group sex scenes, you probably didn't make it this far anyways. However, this book specifically, as the last book of the series, I have several pros and cons. The reality is, this final book is what drags down the score.
Pros: The romance ties up nicely. The world building itself is still there (even if not as much...) The story overall is decently wrapped up. After a lot of thought and some time to digest, I am ultimately more satisfied than not with the ending, albeit only by a slim margin.
Cons: Obviously I cannot read the author's mind in how she developed the MC, however, to me it reads as somewhat of a self insert in the sense that for each new event that happens, perhaps the author is thinking "how would I react to this?" and NOT "at this point in the story, after all of the events that have happened so far, how would MILA react to this?" The MC greatly lacks any great character development, and it's severely highlighted in this final installment of the series. A majority of the book is heavily focused on her moral hemming and hawings instead of better looks into the awesome world that's been built and focus on the story. Despite the MC being in her early 20s, she still reads as the 18 year old that started out in the first book. Despite her issues being recognized by others and herself, there is little done to remedy them and instead we get thoughts and actions that continue to hammer in the same issues over and over. The issue with this is 3 hours left in this book, I had no idea how the entire series was going to end. Heck, with ONE hour left in the book, I still wasn't sure what ending we were trying to shoot for. It feels like the author was working up to a certain resolution all the way from the beginning to about halfway through this book then thought "crap, I better start setting up for my spin off series!!" It was a little bewildering trying to figure out how everything was going to pan out, and once I finished it I was initially pretty annoyed. However, like I said, after giving myself time to consider it, it's satisfactory *enough.*
Okay, so obviously it appears my cons list is much longer than the pros... and it is! However, if you are already about to start this 4th book, you're probably already tolerant and patient enough from the previous books to handle this one and make it to the end of the story. And, despite the cons of feeling like the ending was designed for a last minute spin off, I'm still interested in that story too just because I do like how this world is designed and I'm still looking forward to learning more about the author's vision for the lore. However, I'm ultimately unlikely to recommend it to anyone because this last one is a little difficult to get through when it comes down to it.

Historia
Grim Reaper Academy is a prison, and my father is the jailor. Since he's been appointed Headmaster, he's been changing all the rules. There's a curfew now, students are not allowed to gather in groups, and all connections with the outside have been cut. And don't think that because I'm his daughter, the rules don't apply to me. On the contrary, he's even more of a tyrant. He's forbidden me from seeing my lovers, GC and Paz. He says he'll find me a match worthy of my name. Unfortunately for him, I am my father's daughter. I do not break. I don't even bend.

I love the story but...
Revisado: 01-07-23
Sometimes the MC just baffles me. I get she's young and this world is new to her, but it's the *3rd* book in this series. She shouldn't be as shocked as she is about crazy supernatural things that she experiences. I agree with another review that she lacks a little bit of character growth, and I'd really love to see her get a little smarter. Even if she's a human, she has some cool grim reaper powers and uses them often, yet somehow manages to not use them in the most crucial moments in a string of continued bad decisions, and it definitely frustrates me to the point I have to pause sometimes to take a brief break.
Also, I'm no prude and I love a little smut myself, but even I'm shocked by the level of detail in the orgies she engages in with her harem. I mean more power to her and all, but bravo to the voice reader for doing it so masterfully and keeping a serious face on.
However, despite these MC flaws, I do still keep coming back and I've actually already started book 4. The lore and world building is actually quite interesting (between the sex scenes and generally horny, lack of growth teenager thoughts), and I'm very interested to see how everything is going to truly play out.

Historia
Kera Watson never expected to face death behind a Los Angeles coffee shop. Not after surviving two tours lugging an M16 around the Middle East. If it wasn't for her hot Viking customer showing up too late to help, nobody would even have seen her die. In uncountable years of service to the Allfather Odin, Ludvig "Vig" Rundstrom has never seen anyone kick ass with quite as much style as Kera.

Pretty great
Revisado: 05-05-15
It's hilarious. It's so clearly written for a teen audience, but that's what makes it great. It's not overly serious. It has a semi predictable story line (then again, I'm really good at guessing story lines) but that's also like a part of what makes it so good. It's a typical teen romance fantasy novel and if you're into that (like me) then this is great for you.
