Historia
A prominent local woman, Hannah Oakley, drives to beautiful Mourning Bay State Park on the rugged southern Oregon coast, leaves her glasses and a mysterious note on a piece of driftwood, and then walks into the bay, committing suicide—or does she? Police chief Matt Horning makes a promise to the woman’s grieving husband to further investigate the disappearance of his wife, but with no body, no crime scene, and no witnesses, he doesn’t have much to go on.

Another Fantastic Read!
Revisado: 12-03-23
Kay is such a gifted writer who keeps you guessing until the end. The story line and characters are so well developed- just another fantastic read. I love this series so much I got a friend hooked and she finished the entire series in a just a few weeks. Her books never disappoint! The cherry on top for me in Mourning Bay was to have a character named after me (I am the person who won her contest). It’s like seeing/ hearing your name up in lights. Waiting with anticipation for the next installment in this series!

Historia
All Jackie Goldschneider ever wanted was to be thin. As a child, she’d stand in front of the mirror, sucking in her stomach and arching her back to feel her ribs, praying to see a model-like figure looking back. As an obese teen, lonely and tormented by her weight, her doctor encouraged her to start dieting, ultimately leading to a prolonged battle with anorexia that nearly took her life. After decades of hiding her eating disorder from friends, family, and the world, Jackie is ready to expose the realities of her devastating struggle.

Beautiful
Revisado: 10-04-23
Jackie is so very courageous in sharing her story and I am sure will help many. Her book was relatable on so many levels - in particular not loving myself and looking to external cues for validation of my self worth. Her book was both well written and well narrated. Highly recommend.

Historia
Iris Fisher Smith's stories of family, friends, and health will show the importance of sticking together with those you love. She had an Italian grandmother, who, in her teens, idolized Bonnie and Clyde; a father who was friends with Leonard Nimoy; a mother who attended school with the Boston Strangler, and more. This family provides a rich history that shaped the author's life and personality. When Life becomes challenging, this is the time we need each other the most. It is important to laugh and play together and enjoy each other’s company.

Relatable to Everyone
Revisado: 07-03-23
The author takes the reader on her life’s journey including dealing with health challenges. I found this story very relatable as we all have challenges at various times in our lives. I was reminded from her well written perspective that we are never alone as long as we have our family, friends, and G-d in our lives. Sometimes we just need to let go and have faith that things will all work out. Recently, I have had a few health challenges and found this book inspiring and encouraging.

Great Mystery and Series
Revisado: 01-12-23
Have listened to each of Kay Jennings books and have loved each one. The development of the key characters in each book in the series and storylines are well done. Particularly, love that it is set in beautiful Oregon. This audiobook had a male narrator and took a bit of getting used to for me as the other audiobooks in this series had a female narrator. Nevertheless i adjusted and would definitely recommend each book in the series. Looking forward to the next installment.

Eli's Promise is a masterful work of historical fiction spanning three eras—Nazi-occupied Poland, the American Zone of post-war Germany, and Chicago at the height of the Vietnam War. Award-winning author Ronald H. Balson explores the human cost of war, the mixed blessings of survival, and the enduring strength of family bonds.

Superb
Revisado: 01-09-21
As always, Ronald Balson’s historical fiction storyline captivated me from beginning to end. Adding to the brilliant writing of Ronald Balson is the impeccable narration of Fred Berman, who is without a doubt the best narrator I have ever heard! Each character - male AND female absolutely sound like different people are speaking thanks to his pure talent. Highly recommend this book!!

Historia
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

Dragged at times
Revisado: 01-12-17
Storyline was good but Dragged at times. Too much detail at times. Didn't enjoy the detailed description of life in jail for Andrew and ultimately towards the end of that section had to fast forward though it. Narration was not the best quality performance- there were many times could hear several narrators take a breath or swallow.
