Historia
This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

not your average wizard story
Revisado: 09-18-19
a story inside a story inside a story. each one enthralling, enlightening and adventurous with a certain amount of youthful indiscretion and impulsiveness. a story about a real person with flaws and unreasonable ambitions and misunderstandings. supporting characters you could easily follow on their own Journeys in another book as well as any sequels. It leaves you with a burning desire and need to hear the rest of the story no matter what it may be. and lovely little bits of Enlightenment you can use in your own life if you are inclined that way. a realistic portrayal of politics and Power and human influence in a world with magic. both a hard and soft magic system. we are two books in now with a light reverie in the form of a short novel. have patience and wait for the rest I'm sure it will be worth it. and you will be too!

Historia
The long-dreaded war between Britain and France has finally begun. French soldiers have landed on English soil, and the British Army - and the Royal Sorcerers Corps, led by Lady Gwen - is moving to meet them. But when an inexperienced major disobeys her orders and sends two hundred hussars to their deaths, Gwen accidentally uses her magic to permanently damage his mind and sparks a political crisis at the worst possible time. In the aftermath of the battle, Lord Mycroft suggests she leave Britain and head to the North American colonies.

Christopher Nuttall delivers more fun
Revisado: 05-20-19
this is series develops as most of Christopher Nuttall other series do. a few unexpected details and a few subverted expectations, but otherwise the fun romp I have come to expect from this author.
One of the things I enjoy about Christopher Nuttall's work is the way it highlights the injustices of society. Even as a Libertarian who has no time for social justice Warriors or any of that, ahem, dreck, the rich and sensitive depiction of the effect of social forces on women, minorities, and all other disenfranchised peoples helps me to be aware of such things in my everyday life around me. So thank you Chris, for making it easier to be the sort of person I want to be every day.

Historia
Deep below the University, there is a dark place. Few people know of it: a broken web of ancient passageways and abandoned rooms. A young woman lives there, tucked among the sprawling tunnels of the Underthing, snug in the heart of this forgotten place. Her name is Auri, and she is full of mysteries. The Slow Regard of Silent Things is a brief, bittersweet glimpse of Auri’s life, a small adventure all her own. At once joyous and haunting, this story offers a chance to see the world through Auri’s eyes.

Revisado: 09-13-17
Storyline predictable, universe 2D or complexities unapplied, unimaginative, simplistic. narrative overglosses everything. unable to become immersed! lacks realism, especially for technology. Author has potential. Expanded version could be incredible.

Historia
Meet Shaman Bond, aka Eddie Drood, scion of the ancient Drood family. He is devoted to protecting humanity from the forces of darkness. Protected by the secret weapon received at birth by all members of the Drood family - a magical gold torc (i.e., a neck ring) that turns into a suit of nearly impervious golden armor - Eddie faces arcane dangers with healthy doses of wry self-confidence and sarcasm. Then the family matriarch sends him on a mission that turns out to be a deadly setup.
