A continuation of The Secret of Cypriere Bayou

If I’d realized this was essentially a part two of The Secret of Cypriere Bayou story that I enjoyed, I would have purchased it immediately after finishing.

When I read the description, I was a bit confused and was worried I might be buying the same book that has some updates, but it is a completely new book with the same place, people and some new.

Great story, really glad I made the purchase. I enjoyed just as much as the 1st.

I’m a big fan of the Miss Fortune Mysteries and have read them all. I thought I would try this book and was not disappointed. Looking forward to trying other books by this author.

If more come out in this series, I will be happy to purchase them as well. I’m hoping that the half books or short mysteries will become available on Audible. I believe I found this author through my enjoyment of the narrator. If I enjoy a narrator very much, I will check out other books they have narrated; as I will often enjoy those books as well.

Thoroughly Enjoyed!

I am on book 14 of the Sarah Booth Delaney Mysteries by this same author, so was excited to try something new by the same author. I’m very happy I did~ I laughed out loud, and am ready for more though a bit worried as I noticed the other books are written by other authors. I hope I enjoy the other books just as much! I did notice there is another book (book 9 I think) in this series written by C. H. So I hope I like the series all the way through!

For the first Book

A new favorite series! I was hooked from the beginning, and loved the story- I am just beginning the 2nd book, but the narrator has changed. I liked the first narrator much more. I find I keep having to rewind this one, and I just don’t like how it’s read. I am still hoping I can get used to this new narrator as I really loved this series so far. I hope the first narrator comes back for the rest of the books or that I can at least get used to this new one. It’s really frustrating as I really enjoyed the 1st book and couldn’t wait for more. I’m having trouble even just focusing on the narrators words in order to enjoy the story. I don’t dislike her voice (her voice is quite nice itself) or anything I just am really having trouble with following it for some reason.
I will also see if the first narrator has done any other books- maybe those will be as good as this series too. Thank you!

Update: I just can not get used to the way the new narrator reads the story. I’m so interested in the story I really want to keep going, but I just can’t deal with it. I’m going to return the other books I purchased on audible, I’ll need to purchase the hardback versions to read these on my own. Very frustrating. Love the story so far.

I’ve finished two books in the barkhouse series, and am enjoying them so far. I hope I continue to enjoy the rest of this series, and now I will also look into any other books/series by this author. Thank you~

Surprised me

Most similar genre books don’t have the depth this one does. It surprised me. It also is a little more dark in parts than I am used to, but I still enjoyed it, and am now onto the 2nd. Very glad I gave this one a chance. I hope I’ll enjoy the rest of the books just as much or more. I’m also now interested in other books by this author.

I’m really glad I found this series. Im currently 4 books in, and love that the same characters You’ve gotten to know show up often in each story. It’s great how you get a backstory and to know different characters deeper.
