Where's the Plot?
Revisado: 03-19-25
I was extremely disappointed with this work. It's Richard Osman, so I expected a great read. Instead, multiple characters are introduced so rapidly it's difficult to keep everyone straight. We get bits and pieces of information about the characters but no real depth of their nature. Not even Miss Marple could locate the Plot. The audio narration is flat and boring. Recommend skipping this one.

Gripping
Revisado: 01-23-25
Deeply human characters and suspense that leaps off the page will keep you up all night just to finish. Be sure to start early in the day so you can get a good night's rest. Unless you start the next book in the series; in which case it's a flashlight under the covers!

Bottomless Love
Revisado: 08-02-24
It's amazing to me how some people have a bottomless love and an infinite capacity to forgive. This work is about family facing daunting challenges very much in the public eye. This book was deeply moving, and I am grateful to Mr. Trump for sharing his story.

You'll Never Figure Out This One
Revisado: 05-19-24
I love the originality of the plots, the beguiling characters and the historical elements. Warning: once you start you can't put it down. Strongly suggest you start with the first in the series, Also, if you listen to the audio, the narrator is a genius with the voices. I can see teenage Christopher and the old gentleman grandfather. Enjoy!

Historia
It’s tough working nights with the NYPD. The crime rate is high, the hours are terrible, and forget about a personal life. So, when Officer O’Reilly and her K-9 Rolf switch over to the day shift, things look up. She’s even able to find time for a new boyfriend. But when the theft of a priceless painting from the Queens Museum leaves a fellow police officer dead, Erin and her four-legged partner find themselves dealing with dangerous criminals, sleazy art dealers, and obstructive detectives in a race to capture the killers...and just maybe bring closure to a 75-year-old crime.

Great Characters, Fascinating plot
Revisado: 02-08-24
I loved the spunky, impetuous character of Erin O'Reilly. The writer immerses you in the NYPD. It just feels so genuine and honest. That's not easy to accomplish. Now that I've found her, I'll read the entire series!

Historia
Rookie reporter Edie York dreams of being out in the field, instead of being stuck writing up the wartime headlines, transcribing Churchill’s rousing speeches on her cranky typewriter. So when her first real assignment one misty morning ends with the crack of a pistol shot and the sudden death of a Home Guard soldier, she’s determined to take her chance and investigate. With the local police force, under the utterly irritating but outrageously handsome DCI Louis Brennan, stretched to the limit as bombs rain down, Edie strikes out alone. And she discovers more than she’d ever hoped – or feared.

In America's First Dynasty, Richard Brookhiser tells the story of America's longest and still-greatest dynasty, the Adamses, the only family in our history to play a leading role in American affairs for nearly two centuries.John Adams was only the first of the Adamses to occupy the highest office in the land; his son, John Quincy Adams, ascended to the presidency as an equal champion of liberty.

Unusual and mildly disappointing
Revisado: 11-17-21
The danger facing biographers is that they sometimes fall in love with their subject. That accusation cannot be made here. There are many criticisms of the Adamses, generally without supporting arguments. The result is a skewed view of these men, shallow and incomplete. I found this work vague and unsatisfying.
