Joel doesn't discuss casual, shallow subjects, he goes deep and inspires others to think deeply also. I love how completely he researches his topics. I won't lie, sometimes he goes way beyond what my brain can comprehend. there are always twists and turns and things I've never considered before.

love IS a choice...

Gary Chapman tells stories of love as an action, a choice, and of the difference it makes in the lives of people who give and recieve acts of love.
Dede Cordell beautifully narrates this book, bringing the tenderness, determination and vulnerability of these stories to life. With her soothing and melodic voice, she delivers these stories strait to your heart.
Mr. Chapman is a reliable author who always delivers, and I truly hope to hear more from Mrs. Cordell in the future.

I'm surprised this author is on NY Times Bestseller list. The plot is awful. Droning on & on to answering machines... it's ridiculous.

juvenile heroine

River, the leading lady is more like a spoiled middle schooler rather than adult who is growing a successful business. She uses the phrase "I hate you" frequently, which makes her sound like a petulant child. The idea that a grown woman would constantly complain that someone "stole" her pie, threatening to steal it back or confront an elderly person who ordered and paid for the pie before she could order it make her sound mentally unstable. Seriously? An adult is going to give dirty looks at people who have no idea they've done anything to offend her? Stupidity. River doesn't come off as cute, fun, or playful, she seems immature and psychotic and takes no personal responsibility for anything. I find Dean to be a likeable character, but River is someone I can barely tolerate in the story, not someone I would ever choose as a friend or empathize with.

J.R. Ward has found the perfect voice to bring her characters to life. The prison camp series has been a little tougher for me to immerse myself in, there are so many characters coming together, but this book has pulled it all together for me.

nice plot, but jarring segways

the story was cute, with a simple plot twist, and the narration was decent. I found the segways from scene to scene to be quite jarring. they added music that is much louder than the narration. I use headphones to listen to audio books at night while in bed, I would be feeling quite relaxed and then the darn music would blare in my ears and startle me, ruining my chances at setting a timer and drifting off to sleep while listening.
