Historia
Meg Murry, her little brother Charles Wallace, and their mother are having a midnight snack on a dark and stormy night when an unearthly stranger appears at their door. He claims to have been blown off course and goes on to tell them that there is such a thing as a "tesseract", which, if you didn't know, is a wrinkle in time. Meg's father had been experimenting with time travel when he suddenly disappeared. Will Meg, Charles Wallace, and their friend Calvin outwit the forces of evil as they search through space for their father?

one of the best books I’ve ever read
Revisado: 11-20-23
Ever since I was around 9 years old, this has always been one of my favorite books. Some people say this isn’t a good book for children, but I think it isn’t a book for adults. Adults tend to have their minds closed, with more analyzation than imagination. I always find a part of myself in Meg and Charles, I’ve never been able to connect with characters as much as in these books. They’ve helped me feel understood and less alone throughout my childhood and teenage years. This book has always given me a better understanding of the world around me, no matter how many times I read it. Truly a timeless masterpiece

Historia
Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the poor neighborhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Khalil was unarmed. Soon afterward, his death is a national headline. Some are calling him a thug, maybe even a drug dealer and a gangbanger. Protesters are taking to the streets in Khalil’s name.

Historia
One of five children, Pat watched as her alcoholic mother struggled to get by on charity, cons, and petty crimes. At age seven, Pat was taught to roll drunks for money. At 12, she was targeted for sex by a man eight years her senior; by 13, she was pregnant. By 15, Pat was a mother of two. Alone at 16, Pat was determined to make a better life for her children. But with no job skills and an eighth-grade education, her options were limited. She learned quickly that hustling and humor were the only tools she had to survive.

An amazing story, and she deserves all the good things that have happened to her.
