Historia
Before Owen Michaels disappears, he smuggles a note to his beloved wife of one year: Protect her. Despite her confusion and fear, Hannah Hall knows exactly to whom the note refers—Owen’s sixteen-year-old daughter, Bailey. Bailey, who lost her mother tragically as a child. Bailey, who wants absolutely nothing to do with her new stepmother. As Hannah’s increasingly desperate calls to Owen go unanswered, as the FBI arrests Owen’s boss, as a US marshal and federal agents arrive at her Sausalito home unannounced, Hannah quickly realizes her husband isn’t who he said he was.

A little uneventful
Revisado: 06-25-21
Wasn’t a huge page turner, this could have been summed up in a 2hr lifetime movie. Neither exciting nor emotionally charged but the performance was ok.

Historia
In March of 1984, the commercial fishing boat Wind Blown left Montauk Harbor on what should have been a routine offshore voyage. Its captain, a married father of three young boys, was the boat’s owner and leader of the four-man crew, which included two locals and the blue-blooded son of a well-to-do summer family. After a week at sea, the weather suddenly turned, and the foursome collided with a nor’easter. They soon found themselves in the fight of their lives. Tragically, it was a fight they lost. Neither the boat nor the bodies of the men were ever recovered.

Great summer read with deep history and pulls on your heartstrings...
Revisado: 06-08-21
For many east end locals this book can seem contentious, sometimes touching to close to home for a not so distance past. But there is another beautiful side to this story, the story of a determined, hardworking community of fisherman. Deep with local history, this provides a glimpse into the real daily life of local Montauk fisherman and the families and loved ones who depend on them. A story that needs to be read (heard)!

Historia
I am floating in the middle of the night, and nobody in the world even knows I am missing. Nobody is looking for me. You can't get more alone than that. You can't be more lost. I've got too many people who love me. There's no way I'm dying like this. In the dead of night on July 24, 2013, John Aldridge was thrown off the back of the Anna Mary while his fishing partner, Anthony Sosinski, slept below. As desperate hours ticked by, Sosinski, the families, the local fishing community, and the US Coast Guard in three states mobilized in an unprecedented search effort.

Good writing, story-line could have gone better...
Revisado: 08-20-18
I kept imagining all sorts of ways the story could turn and it seems it went not even the most obvious of routes, but the safest. Would have liked more of a shocker/thriller but overall it was a good quick read.

Good story, excellent insights into how individuals process life and love!
Revisado: 08-26-16
This is my second book by the same author I love how she can tell a single story from so many vantage points and still managed to surprise you at the end with the complex workings of human emotion. The narration is fantastic! The narrator opens up a whole new world to the characters playing on the already deeply involved personalities written by the author. I will definitely be reading more of her books!

Revisado: 06-19-15
This is one of my favorite books!!! I've read it about four times over and it never gets boring, there's always something new to discover and it's without a doubt my favorite series ever written! Jennifer Ikeda does an amazing job narrating the story. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes history fiction romance, mysteries, and a bit of magic.
