Historia
When she was suddenly given the opportunity of a new life in rural Jutland, journalist and archetypal Londoner Helen Russell discovered a startling statistic: the happiest place on earth isn't Disneyland but Denmark, a land often thought of by foreigners as consisting entirely of long, dark winters, cured herring, Lego and pastries. What is the secret to their success? Are happy Danes born or made?

I really enjoying listening to this book. It fed my curiosity about living Danishly and was entertaining to listen to. I kept wanting to listen to hear what would happen next and what else I could learn about living in Denmark.

It's pretty good
Revisado: 07-13-23
I liked this book overall, however I did find it came from the perspective of someone who is very much into structure and planning. As someone with ADHD, for me I often procrastinate or don't get things done at all, and I rarely make plans or schedule anything. I would like to gently add in some of that, but I think the author has always been a go go go person. So I felt like over al, it felt overwhelming to hear all the things she does to keep order. plans, to do lists and track everything. There were certainly some good pointers to get me started on things and a few good ideas I put into use and got inspiration, However, I feel like this book is perfectly tailored for someone with ADHD who falls under over planning and controlling type who has a harder time sitting still and really wants to eliminate distractions.

Historia
By the time Susan Blech was 38 years old, she weighed a staggering 468.1 pounds. She binged. She was "only a little chubby," or so she convinced herself. Gripping, sometimes shocking, and ultimately inspiring, Confessions of a Carb Queen is the story of how Susan changed her life to save her life, ultimately losing 250 pounds without surgery. Susan speaks candidly about eating binges, fat sex, and other topics no obese person has dared to address.

What made the experience of listening to Confessions of a Carb Queen the most enjoyable?
That I could relate with her and listen to what her thoughts were. That she was being open and honest. I really enjoyed the narrator and could visualize the things happening as she read.
