Historia
Gene Grossman has written more than 45 books, 20 of which are the popular full-length Peter Sharp legal mysteries and Suzi B. mysteries, now being heard all over the world. As an author, Gene reveals all of the things he sees other writers of mystery books and television shows do that makes him immediately either close the book or change the channel. Every person intending to write a suspenseful mystery novel or television show should avoid doing the things on Gene's list, and instead concentrate on his rules.

Left me wanting more
- De Mira Brancu en 12-24-17
Entertaining, with a few good tips.
Revisado: 11-04-20
The book focuses on crime, with detectives or police procedures, and some legal background. If that's not the type of mystery you want to write, it can be less useful. Still, there are some good generic tips.

Focused on working for others
Revisado: 11-04-20
This book is not an in depth analysis and it focuses on jobs and working for others in the corporate world. So, if you're looking for advice on how to leave the corporate world and do your own thing, this book is not for you.
Also, all the reviews for the book and how amazing it is seem to be fake. They are all very similar and generic with no particulars about the book.
There are better, more helpful books for you out there on this topic, don't waste your money here.

Too much rambling
Revisado: 10-06-20
The book is supposed to be actionable but even at 1.7 speed, I wasn't able to get to that part. The narrator also makes it hard to go through all the stories.

Terrible
Revisado: 02-07-20
I was expecting a decent book based on the other reviews but I was surprised to find a very badly structured book with a terrible narrator with a terrible French pronunciation.
I couldn't listen to it all because it was painful but I listened to the first chapters and a dialogue. You hear the complete dialogue in English first (only the narrator's voice) and the the complete French dialogue with the terrible accent after (again, only the narrator's voice).
To work with input to improve listening skills you need a native speaker, two voices (it's a dialogue) so that you don't have to hear the tag of who's speaking all the time, and you need the transcript.
The input presented in this book is insufficient even if you only want to get started. The explanations are also insufficient and I don't know what the point is to give a short list of vocabulary related to family and animals if you're not going to hear it again anywhere else.
It's overall very disjointed.
This is my first one-star review and I love learning languages.

Great advice!
Revisado: 04-17-19
I had just finished reading Truby's book "The Anatomy of Story" when I purchased Libbie's book. I was very pleased to hear her mention it a few times, as it was definitely the best book I've read on story building. But "Take off your pants" complements it in a great way because it gives you the most important aspects to focus on in a nutshell. It's very actionable and inspiring as well.
