Revisado: 12-22-22
Once I began listening to this book it was difficult for me to stop. I couldn't wait to get back to finish listening. I thought I had the ending figured out but wasn't even close!!!! I will be buying extra credits just to get more K.L. Slater listens. Ms. Price-Lewis is a wonderful narrator and I will look for her as narrator again. I highly recommend this author as well as the narrator.

Revisado: 12-19-21
I am an admitted Outlander fan but ii have to say Ms Gabaldon has really made the wait for this book worth it! In the preceeding books the Frazer story was presented but in this one the Frazer family gets down to life on the Ridge. Viewing the TV series is okay but I will always recommend the books (ask anyone the books are always better).

Historia
Desperate to escape from London, single mother Zoe wants to build a new life for herself and her four-year-old son Hari. She can barely afford the crammed studio apartment on a busy street where shouting football fans keep them awake all night. Hari’s dad, Jaz, a charismatic but perpetually broke DJ, is no help at all. But his sister, Surinder, comes to Zoe’s aid, hooking her up with a job as far away from the urban crush as possible: a bookshop on the banks of Loch Ness. And there’s a second job to cover housing: Zoe will be an au pair at a castle in the Scottish Highlands.

There, overcome with memories of the man she adored and consumed by a history she never knew, she is pulled into another time. The Ireland of 1921, teetering on the edge of war, is a dangerous place in which to awaken. But there Anne finds herself, hurt, disoriented, and under the care of Dr. Thomas Smith, guardian to a young boy who is oddly familiar.

recommended and glad I listened
Revisado: 08-17-21
i heard about this book on a social website I frequent, also concerning time travelers in books hint-hint, and I am so glad I payed attention when reading the post.
I found this book to be all the positive things that were said about the book and more. it is beautifully written, heart warming, and very hard to pause. I wanted to stay up all night in order to keep listening but alas that's not possible for me to do.
it was stated on my social web page that there were other voices that portrayed another in the story, I felt that this was something that would make the story "strange", it did not and added to this wonderful reading. I would highly recommend this book despite the time travel component.

Everywhere Katie Brenner looks, someone else is living the life she longs for, particularly her boss, Demeter Farlowe. Demeter is brilliant and creative, lives with her perfect family in a posh townhouse, and wears the coolest clothes. Katie’s life, meanwhile, is a daily struggle—from her dismal rental to her oddball flatmates to the tense office politics she’s trying to negotiate. No wonder Katie takes refuge in not-quite-true Instagram posts, especially as she's desperate to make her dad proud.

I just love listening to stories that hook me in right from the beginning. This story was predictable a few times but not many. At times I laughed, cried, and was unable to stop listening. I highly recommend this story and the performance.

Historia
The tide is turning against the colonists in the Revolutionary War, and 18-year-old Elizabeth Morris cannot sit by idly. Quietly disdainful of her Tory parents, who drag her along to society events and welcome a British soldier into their home during their occupation of New York City, Elizabeth decides to take matters into her own hands. She realizes that, as a young woman, no one around her believes that she can comprehend the profound implications of being a nation at war - she is, effectively, invisible. And she can use this invisibility to her advantage.
