If you’ve listened to books by Carter Wilson before, how does this one compare?
It's my first
Which scene was your favorite?
Don't have a favourite

Good story. Excellent translation
Revisado: 01-09-16
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Yes I would. I would particularly recommend it to someone who is new to thrillers. It is a good, and quite original read. Rebecca Roberts narration is excellent as usual.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The only irritation for me was the over emphasis on the "preciousness" of musicians. I know many and in my experience they are all quite normal and treat what they do as a job. These include a couple of famous ones!
Have you listened to any of Rebecca Roberts’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Rebecca is always a professional and all her books are a delight to listen to.
Could you see Breaking Measures being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Yes I can see it as a TV series. As I don't watch TV or films I can't commend on the stars!
Any additional comments?
I always recommend narrations by Rebecca Roberts.

I was gripped by this book. Wonderful characterisation and excellent narration.
What did you like best about this story?
It had a raw honesty.

No, I haven't listened to him before as far as I know. I love his voice and he reads beautifully. I certainly hope I get the opportunity to listen to him again.

That the unhappy and damaged, still have less empathy than the privileged

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. A good, gripping story. Fabulous narration by Rebecca Roberts. Although short this book is worth a credit.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Good Neighbor?
The first chapter.
Have you listened to any of Rebecca Roberts’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Rebecca Roberts is a wonderful narrator. I won't miss anything she reads that is in a genre that I enjoy. She is one of the best in my view.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Who do you trust?
Any additional comments?
The only weakness in this book is the, inevitable, shrine to the victim of obsession. Sadly this has been done too many times before. The first chapter was a highlight for me.

Historia
Twenty-one-year-old narcoleptic Angel Duet knows her father harbors secrets. When her father's girlfriend moves in, the photographs come down, and Angel's search for truth becomes an obsession.

Beautiful narration
Revisado: 07-09-15
Would you listen to Aberrations again? Why?
No. I was a bit confused by this one. The book is beautifully written and the characters are quirky and well drawn. But somehow the story never quite grabbed me. I did listen to the end, but mostly because the narration was flawless and Rebecca Roberts managed to keep me engaged enough to want to know what happens.
Would you be willing to try another book from Penelope Przekop? Why or why not?
No. For the above reasons
What does Rebecca Roberts bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Without Ms Roberts I would have given up on the story.
If you could take any character from Aberrations out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Carla, the step mother of the main character. She was the only one I actually identified with.
Any additional comments?
This book just misses. It's a shame. However, I suspect this might just be me and I would be interested to know what other people thought.

Historia
Falling pregnant as a teenager in 1952, Philomena Lee was sent to the convent in Co. Tipperary to be looked after as a fallen woman. She cared for her baby for three years until the Church took him and sold him, like countless others, to America for adoption. She spent the next 50 years secretly searching for him, unaware that he was searching for her from across the Atlantic.

Narration terrible
Revisado: 03-28-14
What would have made Philomena better?
A different narrator. This reader just managed to pinpoint the book's weak areas after five hours of misery from him and the self-pity from the characters I couldn't go any further. Perhaps a different narrator would have improved the whole atmosphere. I just couldn't continue.
Would you ever listen to anything by Martin Sixsmith again?
I would listen to this again with a different narrator. The book is supposed to be wonderful. I did find it a bit heavy as there was absolutely no humour at all and some of the poignancy was lost to me because of the endless misery.
What didn’t you like about John Curless’s performance?
Pretty much everything.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Irritation and ultimately disappointment.

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. The Fault in Our Stars is insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw. It brilliantly explores the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

Historia
The story begins in 1962. On a rocky patch of the sun-drenched Italian coastline, a young innkeeper, chest-deep in daydreams, looks out over the incandescent waters of the Ligurian Sea and spies an apparition: a tall, thin woman, a vision in white, approaching him on a boat. She is an actress, he soon learns, an American starlet, and she is dying. And the story begins again today, half a world away, when an elderly Italian man shows up on a movie studio's back lot - searching for the mysterious woman he last saw at his hotel decades earlier.
