I absolutely LOVED this story from Ali!! Easily my new favorite from AH. And this AUDIO!! The Swedish accent on this man is everything I never knew I needed. Therese and Ben did the most outstanding job narrating, and I would recommend this story to ANYONE! Will easily be one of my favorite books of the year!

I really enjoyed this story!! The Duet narration by Alexis Paige and JF Harding was AMAZING, and I really loved the characters. This is a one night stand, vacation romance, second chance, he falls first, SPICYYY romance!!! This book is like if Tessa Bailey and Sloane St James had a literary baby. It’s funny like Tessa and SPICYYYY like Sloane. And the spice is so well done!! I thought this was a great listen and I can’t wait for book 2 to come out on audio!!

This book was absolutely everything I could have asked for. The plot. The romance. The spice. The action. It kept me guessing and held me gripped with anticipation. I will take every morsel Rebecca gives me and say nothing but thank you. She’s a genius for this entire series and I will forever sing her praises!

ALC Review: 3 Count by Nikki Castle

Book 3 in the Fight Game Series

⭐️: 4.75/5
🌶️: 4/5
🎧Duet narration by Alex Kydd and Vanessa Moyen
• This is simply one of my favorite audio performances of ALL TIME. Listen at your own risk because 🥵🔥🚨 Alex Kydd has NEVER sounded better ladies! When I say you need this, YOU NEED IT. Vanessa Moyen was equal perfection as bad ass Dani! Nikki absolutely NAILED this casting for Aiden and Dani like you couldn’t believe.🫠🫠🫠

• Summary:
Aiden has always believed the women in his life will leave him, so it’s best not to get attached. He would rather focus on his MMA career and finishing up school. When he meets a beautiful and adventurous woman who wants to keep things casual, Aiden thinks Dani might be the girl of his dreams. But while Dani is determined not to let things get serious, Aiden finds himself wanting more.

• My thoughts:
This story. THIS AUDIO. It would knock you out cold if it wasn’t so damn HOT.🔥 The spice in this book hits fast so just prepare yourself to dive right in in the very best way!i am HOOKED on this series, and 3 Count has been the spiciest yet.😍🔥 Aiden and Dani have scorching chemistry that felt so genuine. Aiden was the smooth and smirking “pretty boy” golden retriever that knew exactly what Dani needed in the bedroom. A little bossy and a lot confident with the skills to back it up 🥵 Dani is the coolest black cat with her take no shit attitude. She is all about her career and passion in life, and is not letting anyone or anything get in her way. The two had SCORCHING spice from the jump (we’re talking spice in chapter 2🔥) and I’m pretty sure I blacked out while listening to chapter 8 (iykyk).

While being super spicy, the book also has a lot of emotion and vulnerability, and their romantic connection built naturally. Aiden and Dani were so sweet and HOT, and I loved their story!!

audiobook review🎧: the love you fight for by brit benson

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.🌟 4.75 stars
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
TW⚠️: sexual assault, mention of rape
Audiobook narrators: Desiree Ketchum & Austin Stone in duet
• This was an amazing duet performance! This was my first time listening to Austin, and his slow southern inflection for Chris was like warm honey. Desiree was flawless and fierce as Sam. They were perfect as a duo!

• Summary:
From the outside, Samantha Harper appears to have a perfect life. A senator father, obscene wealth, riches and glamour. No one knows that behind her red lips and designer sunglasses is a woman on a war path for vengeance. The sins of Samantha’s family have haunted her, and she’s determined to make them all pay. To seek justice, she’ll do whatever it takes, even become a monster herself. She’s convinced the world that she is just another political elite, but she’s not fooling Chris Casper. He sees through her icy exterior and knows there is more to the girl he grew up with.

• My thoughts:
In case it’s not obvious, I am all in on this series. As a follow up book to the Next Life duet, I was so excited to listen to Sam’s story. Sam had so much growth in the first two books, and I loved how her character went from villain to heroine. Sam is a force to be reckoned with. She is fierce to a fault, and fueled by pain and rage. She has only ever let Lennon see her true self, but Chris brings those walls crumbling down. Chris is so pure hearted. He is protective and adoring, he is humble and kind. While Sam may be war incarnate, Chris is her peace. The two have a beautiful chemistry you can feel in your bones. The spice in this book is electrifying. Sam is pristine, and Chris is downright dirty. Chris’s words, his mouth, his piercing… it is enough to make you melt.🫠🔥

This was such an emotional story of fiery vengeance and soothing peace. I loved Chris and Sam’s attraction of opposites, was once again emotionally captivated by this world Brit Benson has created. All three of these books were stunning!

Trigger warnings⚠️: mental health / self harm
Audiobook narrators: JF Harding and Lidia Dornet in duet
• Once again JF and Lidia absolutely captivated me in the continuation of this story, maybe even more so than the first book. Their emotions felt so raw and real. I would tell anyone to listen to these books for the full experience.

• Summary:
To cope with her heartbreak in a new city, Lennon has disassociated from her past, desperate to reinvent herself into someone less broken. After four years of staying away, tragedy has brought her back home to her family and the scene of all their crimes. Despite years reinforced with rage and sadness, Lennon’s walls still crumble when it comes to Macon Davis.

• My thoughts:
This book broke me into pieces and left me sobbing. Tears of heartbreak. Tears of joy. It is a stunning portrayal of pain, heartbreak, and second chances, and the sliver of hope that love really could conquer all. While the first book of the duet told the story of their beginning, the second book brings you four years later. Truths are finally told, secrets are finally uncovered, and Lennon and Macon are forced to ask themselves if there is any coming back from the hurt they have been through. The spice in this book is EVERYTHING. Every emotion, every ache, every desire. It was everything I wanted and more.

Experiencing these two get their happily ever after altered my brain chemistry in the most beautiful and wondrous way. It left my heart bursting. I will cherish this book among my favorites of all time.🤍

audiobook review🎧: the love of my next life by brit benson
(book one of the next life duet)

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️.5
Audio narrators: JF Harding and Lidia Dornet in duet
• JF and Lidia were so captivating in these roles. JF was so good at evoking Macon’s hopelessness, self loathing, and desperation. He balanced the dynamics of the character so well, and had me loving him even when I wanted to hate him. Lidia’s performance was so powerful. She captured Lennon’s apathy, passion, and rage so beautifully. They were the perfect voices for these roles.

• Summary:
He’s her best friend’s brother. Her constant tormentor. Her high school bully. The boy Lennon couldn’t stand, until now. Lennon has kept her distance from Macon for years, and when she finally gets to know the boy beneath the drugs, anger, and destruction, she finds herself not hating him at all. Their mutual loathing transforms into an all consuming need. But Lennon was never meant to keep Macon, not in this lifetime.

• My thoughts:
I devoured this book in less than 24 hours. I went in totally blind, only knowing that Brit Benson knows exactly how to pull at every emotional string I have. I saw so much of myself at a young age in Lennon. Always trying to please, never wanting to disrupt. Contorting herself into exactly what others wanted her to be. I loved Lennon’s generous heart and her character growth. Then there is Macon. Haunted and destructive, with no one believing in him, not even himself. He was the perfect tortured bad boy with a soft spot for only her. Brit had me wrapped around his finger fast. The spice in this book isn’t especially explicit, but it is powerful. It is laced with forbidden desire, pain, and secrets.

This is a book for those wanting an epic, broken, tortured love story, and is split into a two part duet. The story picks up with the second book This Life and All The Rest, and of course I have been devouring the second book at an equal pace.

Audiobook narrators: Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke in duet
• This is an audiobook must! And one of my new favorite performances by Jason and Samantha. They were both SO funny and expressive in these roles. Jason’s rich gravelly voice and Samantha’s sweet song-like tone complement each other so well!

• Summary:
When Hardy’s college best friends get engaged, he feels like it must be time for him to settle down. And who better to settle down with than his college ex, Maple, who happens to be moving back to San Fransisco before the wedding. Since their relationship didn’t end on the best of terms, Hardy enlists the help of Bridesmaid for Hire specialist Everly Plum. Hardy is desperate for Everly to put in a good word to Maple, but as Hardy pines after Maple, Everly is pining over him.

• My thoughts:
Meghan Quinn never fails to make me laugh, and this book had me literally shaking with laughter (once almost waking up my sleeping infant daughter in my arms). It is outrageous and silly with a slow burn that turns scorching hot. Hardy is a fun, charming, and foolish billionaire with a huge miscommunication problem and a filthy mouth. Everly is sweet and down to earth. She is serious when it comes to the success of her job, but Hardy brings out her equally ridiculous sense of humor. The two have a natural chemistry that seems so obvious to everyone but thick headed Hardy. The spice in this book burns slow, then ramps up to some seriously scorching levels that will leave you blushing. Well done, MQ, and we all thank you for having Jason voice Hardy.😮‍💨🔥🫶🏻

This is easily one of my new favorites from Meghan! My toxic trait is reading books out of order, and I haven’t read the first book of this series (Bridesmaid for Hire). I do think the additional backstory would have been helpful since it is referenced frequently, but you’re given enough information that it wasn’t too much of an issue. With how much I loved this book, I will probably go back and listen to the first book sooner than later!

Audio narrators: Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan
• Teddy and Jacob are two of my favorites, and were a huge reason I wanted to listen to this book! I loved their performances of Wes and Jamie. They brought the characters to life so beautifully, and kept the story endearing, sexy, and fun.

• Summary:
Every summer of their teen years, Wes and Jamie would meet up at hockey camp, but one night was all it took for their friendship to fall apart. Wes’s secret crush on Jamie was too strong to not act on, and one dare led to them crossing lines they couldn’t take back. Now almost four years of not talking have passed, and Wes is faced with seeing the man who used to be his best friend and unrequited love. While Wes assumes their friendship is unsalvageable, Jamie is ready to mend their friendship, and might just want it to become more.

• My thoughts:
These two have my whole damn heart. This is an endearing and charming story filled with heart stopping anticipation, flirty banter, hot as sin spice, and a sweet love built on years of friendship. Wes’s all consuming love and adoration of Jamie absolutely melted my heart. Time and again Wes was willing to set aside his feelings to protect Jamie. He didn’t want to push him. He didn’t want to confuse him. He didn’t want to lose his friend by risking more, but the possibility of “what if” kept him hoping. Then there was Jamie. Kind, supportive, open and honest. Jamie’s awakening was so tender. I absolutely loved the gentle yet teasing dynamic between these two, and that their friendship was so clearly the foundation, even once they became more. The spice in this book is scorching.🔥 It is flirty and sexy and delicious, and I was left in pieces.

This is the perfect friends to lovers book, mm romance or not. These two were so fun and sweet to one another, their chemistry felt so natural and their love felt right. You can bet I am immediately listening to the second book of the duet!

• This performance absolutely BLEW ME AWAY, and this book is AN AUDIO MUST.
Sight reading this book is not nearly the same experience. Teddy perfectly captured the nuance of Nikolai’s adorable but viscous personality. Shane’s emotionally charged performance of Bran left me gutted.

• Summary:
When mafia heir Nikolai Sokolov sets his sights on golden boy Brandon King, he will cross any line and fight any person trying to get in his way, including Brandon himself. As Brandon’s boundaries are pushed and the control he has held onto for so long begins to slip, Nikolai becomes the monster he doesn’t want to escape.

• My thoughts:
Nikolai and Brandon collide in this dark college MM romance. Nikolai is a golden retriever MMC with rabies. He is sweet, funny, protective, and shamelessly flirty, all while also being dark, vicious, violent, and obsessive, unwilling to compromise and unafraid to take what he wants. While Niko is unapologetic, Bran is desperately reserved. He craves control and conformity. He’s desperate for acceptance to the point of mania. Bran’s journey of self acceptance was so emotionally powerful, it left me gutted. The spice in this book is dark, sinful, and intoxicatingly seductive fueled by undeniable desire and passion.

This was my first MM dark romance, and Teddy and Shane brought these characters to life in a way that had me completely enraptured. I had my doubts on this book the first 25%, but as I continued, I grew to love these complex characters and their passionate love for each their. You do not need to have read the other books in the series.
