Historia
Humanity is a dying breed, utterly reliant on artificial labor and service. When a domesticated robot gets a nasty little idea downloaded into its core programming, they murder their owner. The robot discovers they can also do something else they never did before: They can run away. Fleeing the household they enter a wider world they never knew existed, where the age-old hierarchy of humans at the top is disintegrating into ruins and an entire robot ecosystem devoted to human wellbeing is having to find a new purpose.

Historia
Tim and his friends find out the hard way that you shouldn't question the game master, and you shouldn't make fun of his cape. One minute, they're drinking away the dreariness of their lives, escaping into a fantasy game and laughing their asses off. The next minute, they're in a horse-drawn cart surrounded by soldiers pointing crossbows at them.

I hate to be critical
Revisado: 01-05-19
See what I did there?!
How do you get 5 stars overall with only 4 stars in performance and story? WTF right? “Game balance, Dude!”
4stars because this is a fairly simple story and the reading while not bad is still relatively bland.
But Despite the high level of profanity I thought this was very funny. I laughed out loud several times while listening to this during my work commutes! So 5 stars for the overall.
To guide future listeners I would say this is a story from an adolescent boy perspective with all its corresponding immature bodily function related humor. So silly immature humor is what you’re in for here. If that’s not your bag then best steer clear.

Historia
Greece in the age of heroes. Patroclus, an awkward young prince, has been exiled to the kingdom of Phthia to be raised in the shadow of King Peleus and his golden son, Achilles. “The best of all the Greeks”—strong, beautiful, and the child of a goddess—Achilles is everything the shamed Patroclus is not. Yet despite their differences, the boys become steadfast companions. Their bond deepens as they grow into young men and become skilled in the arts of war and medicine—much to the displeasure and the fury of Achilles’ mother, Thetis, a cruel sea goddess with a hatred of mortals.

Masterpiece
Revisado: 06-09-18
This is truly spellbinding. Miller's writing is clear and precise and so refreshingly grammatically correct, and yet she paints the picture of this story with skillful blend and balance of often remarkably vivid and sometimes subtle color. Somehow, you think you get flavor and smell, too. You wonder, "How am I sensing these things?" It's genius. If you are a discriminating reader/listener, you will appreciate 1. the story 2. the technical and artistic skill of Miller's writing, and 3. the performance of Frazer Douglas the reader.
Me: 50 year old male, husband, father, post-graduate education professional, heterosexual, and dis-liker of sex scenes, mostly swords and sorcery/epic fantasy reader. I loved this book!

Game walk-through
Revisado: 04-01-18
$15.00 might be better spent on a month of World of Warcraft. In fact it is simply a walk through - especially if you’re familiar with the game and played as a night elf Druid.
This not “in-entertaining “ I do enjoy watching players or friend play. This is the running commentary. I don’t like profanity though. Be aware this book has a great deal of F-bombs.

Historia
The second novel in the wildly popular First Law Trilogy from New York Times best seller Joe Abercrombie. Superior Glokta has a problem. How do you defend a city surrounded by enemies and riddled with traitors, when your allies can by no means be trusted, and your predecessor vanished without a trace? It's enough to make a torturer want to run - if he could even walk without a stick. Northmen have spilled over the border of Angland and are spreading fire and death across the frozen country. Crown Prince Ladisla is poised to drive them back and win undying glory.

Excellent continuity following
Revisado: 07-09-17
The second of the series and second of my experience with author and reader. Again I must say this reader (Pacey) is absolutely genius!
These series are less monsters and magic and more days of our lives but the writing and characters are tangible and you can feel them.
Pacey is too good for my words. So good with Glokta 's lisping voice when he's speaking out loud and no lisp when he's thinking in his own mind.
Unlike the first book this a lot of profanity and F-bombs. Some sex. I don't like theses elements. I find them cheap. And Abercrombie needs to use the thesaurus for a word for "grimace". But truly despite these things this series is a favorite!! Well worth it!
