Historia
DI Zoe Finch has survived her first winter in Cumbria CID. She’s learning to trust her team, even if they do have a tendency to get themselves into dangerous situations. And finally, the sun is beginning to shine. But when a competitor in a local fell race is found dead near an isolated cairn, Zoe finds herself navigating an unfamiliar landscape. From the rough and competitive world of the fell runners, through the local business community, to the exclusive Bassenthwaite Manor Hotel, people are keeping secrets from her—and not all of her colleagues seem keen for her to unearth them.

i was disappointed in the story
Revisado: 01-29-25
It had no ending, and what there was of an ending was unrealistic and unsatisfying. The writing is good but the plot was not. The narrator was uninteresting and flat.

Historia
As anyone who has ever had a pet knows, animals are a constant source of joy, but they also connect us to the world and to each other, touching on a deeper, older human need for companionship. Full of the leftfield humour, wit and wisdom that has made Bill Bailey such a beloved performer around the world, My Animals, and Other Animals is the story of Bill's life, but more than that, it's the story of how all of our lives are enriched by the animals who accompany us on that journey.

Revisado: 12-11-24
I loved all of it, but the last bit, the Minke whale and Beethoven's 5th... was heart stopping. That feels like a gift. Thanks, Bill Bailey, I can't express how touched I was by that story.

This is the worst of this series
Revisado: 09-22-24
The plot was convoluted and unbelievable. Also, no character development, no Effort went into writing this book. It's like the author has worked out a template for the JD Kirk series and couldn't even be bothered to use it on this book. I hated it

I'm Sorry I Used a Credit
Revisado: 06-06-24
I've read everything Craig Johnson has written, 2 or 3 times. I think he's a great writer and I'm invested in the lives of the whole 'gang'. But, this book just irritated and bored me. I was so disappointed in this book, annoyed that I took the time to finish it,
Buyer Beware. It's a crazy quilt of scraps and half-developed ideas, stitched together badly by some raveled thread from the strong story line I've grown to love. Feeling used 🙄
