Historia
Acclaimed author Jonathan Rosen’s haunting investigation of the forces that led his closest childhood friend, Michael Laudor, from the heights of brilliant promise to the forensic psychiatric hospital where he has lived since killing the woman he loved. A story about friendship, love, and the price of self-delusion, The Best Minds explores the ways in which we understand—and fail to understand—mental illness.

Tragic and compelling story
Revisado: 04-24-24
This was a very sad and compelling story written by the childhood friend of a man with schizophrenia. very well researched and brings to light the challenges, friends, family, and society faces when one of their loved ones is diagnosed with this mental illness. I was pulled into the story right away and could listen to it for hours at a time.

Historia
In the Swedish ski resort of Åre, crime is rare. Certainly nothing so brutal as the murder of Johan Andersson, a former Olympic skier found bound and beaten to death in the forest. According to his distraught wife, he didn’t have any enemies in the world. To Detective Inspectors Hanna Ahlander and Daniel Lindskog, the crime proves otherwise. But what could have provoked such rage? And in whom?

Really enjoyed this book. Part of history that I was not aware of. While, the author did not have a lot of the details of his mothers life,He clearly did a lot of research and came up with a portrait of the life of the donut girls.
well worth it credit.

Historia
In 1942, in a quiet village in the leafy English Cotswolds, a thin, elegant woman lived in a small cottage with her three children and her husband, who worked as a machinist nearby. Ursula Burton was friendly but reserved, and spoke English with a slight foreign accent. By all accounts, she seemed to be living a simple, unassuming life. Her neighbors in the village knew little about her. They didn’t know that she was a high-ranking Soviet intelligence officer. They didn’t know that her husband was also a spy, or that she was running powerful agents across Europe.
