Not what I was expecting.

Not only is this more depressing than I anticipated, it was a little clumsy feeling. I am perhaps foolish in my optimism but don’t think this would be how it went. Even if “the Republican” is elected, I think the country has backed away from some of the outright violence we saw during 2020. Can definitely tell this was written with those darker times in mind.

Great story decent performance

Reader does a decent Yōda but a terrible Vader. Still their read of main characters and accents plus emotions is quite stellar. Story is a great one. Tells a tale of interesting characters intersecting within important canon while fitting in to not change it. Perfect execution.

The lack of narration is not for me

I l le SW but Hogg republic is difficult for me to track sometimes. Feels like across comics and books there are completely different characters doing what essentially amounts to the same things at the same historical events and it is not entirely clear how they interconnect. This books also chooses to have no narration and all exposition come from characters themselves. I found that to be a little clunky at times.

Trying to avoid spoilers. But this was the book I needed to read after the first phase of High Republic. Buried in THIS book are many of the answers to those questions. But now. More questions. :)

Not a great SW book

Wanted to hear this heading into sequel game. Too much time is spent trying to describe things in a way that feel like “hey this is like how the gameplay is” and not enough understanding of actual characters.

Reader really bothered me at first but got to be ok by the end. Overall I am not sure how this story will do much to serve the characters in any deep way heading into the new game.

Truly changed my mind

This book has helped on my own mental health journey, while forcing me to consider all I thought I knew about consciousness, drugs, and existence. It also has been useful as something I allude to when I teach intro psych.

Very practical.

I had my doubts with this as I am a research psychologist in my day job. I was a little Leary if anyone claiming effects based mostly on their own therapy (at first). However this book has already made huge positive contributions to my wife and I rediscovering our love for each other after a difficult few years through COVID.

Strongly recommend trying these exercises. Not all will work for all, but you will find something that works for you.

Such great detail and admirably performed

Love getting this additional detail about Padme, and the others in her circle. Such layer and important context to her relationship with Annakin and others.

Performer is very good at affecting the queen and maidens voices. Less so at replicating voices of other well known characters, but it is a good attempt and the story more than makes up for any shortfall.
