Historia
Twin sisters Cassie and Lenora are inseparable. Ever since that night, they’ve been on their own, and that’s how they like it. As the sole permanent residents of Cabin Two, their refuge on an isolated Tennessee campground, the twins manage to stay away from prying eyes, probing questions, and true-crime junkies. The peace and quiet is almost enough to make them forget what happened all those years ago. Almost. Until a teenage girl camping at the neighboring cabin goes missing, and the memories come rushing back.

Damn- what a good story. I loved the housemaid and I know this author is great at plot twists- but I wasn’t expecting this one. Great story and amazing narrator.

Molly Gray is not like everyone else. She struggles with social skills and misreads the intentions of others. Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

This was my favorite book of 2018. The narrator was perfect. The book flowed and created the most detailed and lovely pictures of the scene and the characters. I loved the main character and cheered and cried for her throughout the book. I’m not sure if it’s because I grew up in the south and this reminded me of my youth or what, but this book was very touching to me.

Historia
Cass is having a hard time since the night she saw the car in the woods, on the winding rural road, in the middle of a downpour, with the woman sitting inside - the woman who was killed. She's been trying to put the crime out of her mind; what could she have done, really? It's a dangerous road to be on in the middle of a storm. Her husband would be furious if he knew she'd broken her promise not to take that shortcut home. And she probably would only have been hurt herself if she'd stopped.

Predictable— but still a good story.
Revisado: 01-04-18
This was my 2nd read from this author. I really loved Behind Closed Doors so I dove into this one hoping for more of the same. Although I enjoyed the reader, and the ending, the “mystery” of it all was very predictable and I figured it out from the first few chapters, so that was a bummer. There were no real twists like I had hoped for and the ending was a bit anticlimactic. I would recommend if you don’t mind a predictable ending to a well told story.

Total Thriller!!!
Revisado: 01-03-18
Wow— this book took me through so many emotions. This is a very dark book that left me uneasy at times, but kept me turning the pages. The narrator was brilliant and the story was amazing. I won’t spoil the details or the ending but I cheered at the outcome but also found myself wanting more...maybe a flash forward to check in on the characters to see how their life went on as a result of the ending. Great book. A must read!!

Exciting Until The End!!
Revisado: 12-28-17
I really loved this book, as I do everything I’ve read by her. This was my 4th Croft title and I enjoyed even more than the prior 3. I loved the way the story altered between flashbacks and current time and slowly built the story and background at the same time. I also really loved The narrator. The ending was a surprise and I really loved how we were given closure for the main character!

Revisado: 10-04-17
The story was okay, BUT the person reading the story was so bad. The voice was awful and her attempts at male voices was so cringeworthy. I skipped most of the book to near the end to find out what happened so I wouldn’t have to listen to the whole thing.

Graphic but gripping...
Revisado: 09-24-17
This is my 3rd book from Karin Slaughter and I really love her writing style, the mystery and the plot twist/surprise endings that she uses in each story. This story, much like the prior 2 I have read (The Good Daughter and Blindsighted) are really graphic. The detail in which the murders or crimes are explained is sometimes too much for me and I have to skip forward. It’s. It so off putting to keep me from reading her books but if you don’t like that type of book, be cautious when reading these. I’m now off to book 3 from her Grant County series. Love her writing and this series!
