I follow the author on social media and love her so I decided to buy the book. I knew that she had a previous drug problem but had no idea what the story was until I read the book.

I've never used drugs but I am a human being with emotions so I can easily comprehend how a person can become an addict. I'm also married to a police officer so I couldn't help but to empathize.

I cried so many times. I screamed at her. I cheered for her. I COULDN'T PUT THE BOOK DOWN...and remember, I follow her on social media so I already knew how the story ended.

It's a must read. It doesn't matter if you've never used drugs or don't know the author, it's a story that could be any other person's in your life.

The book is predictable, very predictable. I did have the need to know urge and read it quickly. It's slow and drawn out at times, even a bit pg13.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat & listening every free second I could. Total book hangover when I finished it. Extremely relatable. If Madeleine could just narrate every book, life would be perfect!!

I love to listen to Joyce's actual sermons... her humor, personal stories & examples, teachings and "tell it like it is" approach are very relatable.

It's easy to apply the messages she shares to my own life because I sincerely believe she's been there, felt it, prayed about it and learned from it. When she says the exact thought that's currently running through my mind, I know she understands the real life struggles. It gives me a sense of peace and a huge dose of faith in the message she's sharing. Anyone can say "Give it to God and pray about it" but it's not that easy. I feel she teaches how to find the faith & courage to do it while addressing the fear & doubt that will attempt to side track it.

I enjoy her "quotes" and I often hear her in my mind repeating them in applicable situations. I wish she was able to narrate all her other books.

Regardless of the depth of your relationship with God, this book is relatable, applicable and honest. Easy to listen to and apply immediately. It's brought a great deal of focus to what's on my mind, how my attitude can influence a situation and how to control my thought pattern.

One of the quotes Joyce reiterates is "Where the mind goes, the man follows." The application of the principles taught have brought a new sense of calm & stillness to my scattered mind. I listen to it daily... even if only for a few minutes to reset my train of thought, perception & attitude. Prior to this book, I would have considered myself a moderate-highly positive person and the book didn't change my opinion on my disposition but it did change the way I allow myself to think about things.

I was raised in a Christian family but I wouldn't consider myself a religious person. Something lead to read Joyce's book "Battlefield of the Mind" and I felt tremendous peace from the message so I downloaded this one. I've been very moved by the scriptures, her explainations & teachings and have started reading daily devotionals.

I'm not a fan of the narrator. I really want to be as I listen to this book frequently and she narrates several of Joyce's other books. I can't get over her flat reading. At times, she breaks her monotone but it seems fake, forced and unnecessarily dramatic. Definitely not a deal breaker for the book but if it was re-recorded by someone else, I'd pay to download a different version.

Addicting and you can't put it down. You'll never love a villian the way you'll love Joe. Plan to immediately download Hidden Bodies after finishing it and you will not be disappointed!! The narrator is absolutely amazing.

Starts a little slow...

but stay with it because once it gets good, it gets amazing. I read the book before the movie came out and couldn't wait to relive the story when it did. Total binge read!!
