Historia
Feyre has undergone more trials than one human woman can carry in her heart. Though she’s now been granted the powers and lifespan of the High Fae, she is haunted by her time Under the Mountain and the terrible deeds she performed to save the lives of Tamlin and his people. As her marriage to Tamlin approaches, Feyre’s hollowness and nightmares consume her. She finds herself split into two different people: one who upholds her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court, and one who lives out her life in the Spring Court with Tamlin.

Story keep getting better
Revisado: 06-25-23
This second book just makes me want to keep reading! Yes, there are heavy intimacy scenes so beware for under 16. Otherwise the narrator, story, plot and pace are wonderful.

Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Story grips and holds you tight 🐉 🖤 ⚡️🗡️
Revisado: 06-19-23
You’ll want to be alone and have headphones for a few of the chapters 🫶🏻💥 The story kicks in strong from the very beginning and never stops for a snack break. Don’t fool yourself with “one more chapter”. It will turn into an all-nighter (so do the characters 🐉). If you like series, get started on this one. Dragons, magic, rebels, kings, romance, honor. I also recommend looking into other Red Tower Publishing and Entangled Publishing books.

Do you know who you are and what you're capable of
Revisado: 10-04-15
Any additional comments?
A indepth beginning to an intense series. Could you grown up hiding in the shadows, afraid of your neighbors, ashamed of your gifts/talents/traits? Then have your world turned upside down and find out you are more than you could ever imagine. A young witch sunk deep into the disparity of townspeople shaming must eventually understand if she is strong enough for the unknown parts of her future. The author lays before us an unsure witch who has potential. But what is potential if you cannot accept it? The strength, struggles, and heartache are a immense undertaking for her. Our author takes us through all that pain, regret and hope. A uniquely written witch story that starts with a common girl and promises a new world and witch coven. I look forward to more books in the series!

Not even her beloved guardian, Joshen, believes her. And the longer she stays with the witches, the more disturbing secrets she dredges up from their sordid past. If Brusenna uncover the truth behind the threat, she'll have to travel back to the place it all began. The place where the witches society fell to ruin centuries ago. And the only one she can turn to - the only person with the answers she seeks - is her enemy.

Another great addition to the series

Any additional comments?
I love spending time in this fictional world. Author Amber Argyle has a brilliant mind for all things witch. She has created a outwardly strong main character who still struggles with inwardly weakness. A prime role model for all readers. I've really come to enjoy the Guardians too. Even some I didn't want to like LOL I look forward to the next installment of the series. The audio narration fits the story well and the narrator handles the accents perfectly.

This is a splendid prequel
Revisado: 10-04-15
This is a splendid prequel. I love learning the back story of how/why things are the way they are. Fluid writing and spellbinding adventure. A heartwarming reminder of what family and friendship truly mean (even in the witch world). The author takes us through heavy lose, unrealized gain, and undaunted friendship. It's not always easy to tell who you are and even less to tell how others are or will be.

An absolute perfect follow-up to Book 1
Revisado: 07-24-15
An absolute perfect follow-up to Book 1: Carnelian. In my opinion one of the most positive things about Book 2 is the increased level of historical time travel. Mari has made choices that lead her to make sacrifices. For me it was great to have more sci-fi (time travel) and more historical (ancient lands) local! Mari grows a lot in the book and author B. Kristen McMichael did a superb job allowing the character to try, fail, learn, lose. I'm still in love with the sub-characters <3. Serious book boyfriends in the works! Maybe Ty will get his own series one day (hint, hint). Bonus in the book is that you get a character you are going to love-to-hate.

My 1st ever AudioBook
Revisado: 05-27-14
Where does The Shadow Elf rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is my 1st AudioBook and I believe it was of mid to high quality and it was what I expected.
Did Maria Hunter Welles do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Her choices of the voices for men weren't appealing at all. Her main character was done well.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There are some laugh out loud moments for the character behavior. Quite a different story line to include "aliens" and elf.
