Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Historia
Former Broadway dancer and current agoraphobic Billy Shine has not set foot outside his apartment in almost a decade. He has glimpsed his neighbors--beautiful manicurist Rayleen, lonely old Ms. Hinman, bigoted and angry Mr. Lafferty, kind-hearted Felipe, and nine-year-old Grace and her former addict mother, Eileen. But most of them have never seen Billy. Not until Grace begins to sit outside on the building's front stoop for hours every day, inches from Billy's patio.

wonderful premiss
Revisado: 03-11-16
Loved the idea, and it maintained the story wonderfully. The character development wasn't completed and I was left with a few unanswered questions. That being said, the characters did come together in a way that was enjoyable to listen to. The story line is both a sad one and a joyful one. I do recommend this book, though I really didn't care for the ending, it seemed lacking.

Feel good story
Revisado: 09-01-15
It's a feel good story, not a masterpiece. The characters are predictable, but I found myself liking them just the same. The near miss encounters along with their brief encounters are cute and funny. listen to the book....enjoy it for what it is.
