A Great Start to a Wonderful Series!

The Tipsy Pelican Tavern book series is something I stumbled across randomly when looking for something new to read on my Kindle a few years ago. After reading a few chapters, I fell in love with the characters and the interesting setting. I found it interesting to see a character who was on cusp of being a god in power, decide to "take a vacation" as a Tavern keeper. Which seems like a simple idea, but August does a great job keeping the story interesting throughout the book.

The Narrators Joshua and Laurie do a great job at voicing the large cast of characters. I have to give Laurie props on nailing exactly what I thought Charm sounded like in my head when I read the book.

For people on the fence on this title, I hope you give it a shot. I read / listen to a lot of books and the only thing that is kind of similar to this book is Bruce Sentar's 'Ard's Oath' series (minus the spicy content). Hopefully we will see an audio version of Volume 2 here soon.

I continue to love this series

This series just seems to get better with each book. I love the professor goosewattle and I hope he is a major character in the next book as well. If you have read the previous books, it's a lot of same fun, with some additional characters which keeps things interesting and fun.

Best voice acting in an audio book!

Not only is this a great book to understand what is going on in the world of Warcraft. But the voice acting is fantastic every character is so well done that it is going to be hard to find another book that sounds this good. I hope they bring the same voice actor on for future books.

Great for fans of Mass Effect

So I picked this book up because I am a huge fan of the main trilogy and although I didn't hate Andromeda, I was hoping this might tell more of the story that seemed to be missing in the game. Sadly this does not resolve this issue. If anything it gives the reader a bit more information on Rider's father and Cora's back stories. It was great to get a good idea of why they both decided to make the journey to Andromeda. The best I can say about the book is it fills the void as I am waiting on the next book to come out and it might cause me to actually romance Cora on my next play through of ME:A.

I am Commander Shepard and this is my favorite review of this book!

A great conclusion to a wonderful series.

This is the first book in a long time, that I hope there isn't anymore written. No because it is bad, but just because I love how it ended. If you have read the other two books, do yourself a favor and read this as well.

Kicks the movie's butt

It is sad that none of movies can get the true spirit of this book. Please do yourself a favor and listen to this book so you can understand why this book is piece of art.

I really tried to get through this book.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The story is what drove me nuts. It was full of just non-stop complaining drama fulled complaining.

What was most disappointing about Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez ’s story?

I got over halfway through the book and the characters never seemed to grow or develop. They all just seem to do nothing but complain and never seemed to want to pull themselves out of their bad situation.

How could the performance have been better?

I think the performance was fine, but the it was still rough to listen.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I am happy I got this book free in a "buy two books, get one free" Audiable deal.

Life is to short, listen to only the books you enjoy.
