unrealistic.
Revisado: 04-06-23
Narrator has a condescending and accusatory tone. It feels as though he is shaming people for being human. unhelpful. Can't fault people for having regular human emotions. Not every negative emotion is so complex and some wrongdoing on behalf of the individual. Sometimes it is simple human nature and not a deep rooted issue. It is not realistic or healthy to try to suppress your own human emotions and be happy at all times. It also does not mean that something is wrong with you for feeling negative feelings sometimes, no scientific basis or input for any if it. There should be balance with both spirituality and science. Some things are explainable and not all spiritual and this book neglects any other explanation except "negative energy" and blocks, There is such a thing as cognitive, neurological, psychological, physiological, and outside physical influences that affect our behavior and emotions. This book also fails to acknowledge past traumas and the impact. There are real problems that people face and they should not feel "shamed" for feeling sad or upset about a negative thing that happens to them. it is also not always a "problem within" for having a reaction to someone else's bad behavior. this could enable abuse. yes the world is seen in our own perspective and yes we will at times be misinterpreting a situation based on a personal issue; however, this is not always the case. There are toxic people and situations that have nothing to do with us and our negative reaction or thoughts about it are warranted. This can actually be a good thing, to warn us to get out of bad or abusive situations. This book is very absolute, and condemning. Absolutes usually are not credible because there are ALWAYS exceptions and life is about balance. I couldn't even finish the full book because of the superiority complex this guy has, like he has seemingly cracked the spiritual code and is no longer human. yuck.

Dr. Tim is a great writer and narrator. I also listened to his book habits for happiness and I think I like this one better! either way he is great and either book is highly recommended. The positive psychology aspect is uplifting and empowering. Dr. Happy also has a great voice and accent !

great, until the end!
Revisado: 01-17-23
this was great, got me to sleep; however, at the end a man practically yells "I hope you liked this!" or something to that effect and it totally defeats the entire purpose of listening. please remove that last part and then all will be good.
