Historia
It starts with a prostitute, stripped naked and beaten to death down by the docks, in the heart of Aberdeen's red light district. For DS Logan MacRae it's a bad start to another bad day. Only a few short months ago, he was the golden boy of Grampian police. But one botched raid later, he's palmed off on a DI everyone knows is a jinx, waiting for the axe to fall with all the other rejects in the "Screw-up Squad". But Logan's not going to take it lying down.

Historia
Abe Lieberman, the Chicago PD detective, has never has it easy when it comes to emotional cases, but this time the action is getting little too close to home. His temple has been vandalized along with four others, and it looks like the vandals have more sinister plans in mind. Finding the culprit opens a window on the broiling ethnic tensions on Chicago's North Side, and what's happening in Abe's family life does nothing to turn down the heat.

Too political for me
Revisado: 05-05-17
I usually enjoy this series but I found this one too serious. I look forward to the bantering between the two main characters but not in this one.

There's just one problem - the murder took place before Jack's book was published.

Want to kill myself for buying it!
Revisado: 03-13-15
This book was so incredibly predictable that before the end of the first chapter I had figured out the "mystery". As a lover of psychological thrillers this one was textbook. I did not have the heart to finish and as with a book of the same writing style, I skipped to the end and pushed the stop button ASAP.

A little bite of everything you want in a 5 star!
Revisado: 03-09-15
Somehow I managed to read every other Stephen King book except Salem's Lot!! What a great "new" find for me. I could not stop listening and was up many nights to finish. Learned anew why I love the writing style of Stephen King. His characters are diverse and complex and he scares me silly. Who else could take the common idea of vampires and make me want to go out to find a crucifix, some holy water and a wooden stake!!

A Perfect Listen...I Was Hooked!!
Revisado: 02-08-15
I had seen the movie and loved it! This audio book captures the soul of the fishing industry, the men behind the perilous work and the separation of these men from their families sometimes for months at a time!! The information contained in this book will give you a new found respect for these men and their perilous journey on the sea. The book was written at a wonderful pace, telling the story of not only the Andrea Gale and her men but of the instruments of today and of a century ago, the unforgiving nature of the sea, the history of fishing regulations and the geography of this treacherous area known as Grand Banks, the tip and the tail...just as fascinating as the swordfish themselves.

Historia
Happily retired in the village of Three Pines, Armand Gamache, former Chief Inspector of Homicide with the Sûreté du Québec, has found a peace he'd only imagined possible. On warm summer mornings he sits on a bench holding a small book, The Balm in Gilead, in his large hands. "There is a balm in Gilead," his neighbor Clara Morrow reads from the dust jacket, "to make the wounded whole." While Gamache doesn't talk about his wounds and his balm, Clara tells him about hers. Peter, her artist husband, has failed to come home. Failed to show up as promised on the first anniversary of their separation. She wants Gamache's help to find him. Having finally found sanctuary, Gamache feels a near revulsion at the thought of leaving Three Pines. "There’s power enough in Heaven," he finishes the quote as he contemplates the quiet village, "to cure a sin-sick soul." And then he gets up. And joins her.

Even Ralph Cosham can`t save Gamache this time!
Revisado: 01-18-15
I found this latest book in the Louise Penny ``Inspector Gamache`series to be very disappointing! It didn`t seem to have any real story. Eventually, I grew tired and frustrated waiting for Peter to come home. Finally, I stopped listening. I never found out if Peter did come home or not and by that time I had ceased to care.
