Historia
A town will only suffer the presence of a witch for as long as she is useful. Aisling watches the flames lick her thighs and prays for a quick death. But when an Unseelie prince appears through the smoke, she does what any self respecting witch would do. She curses him. Bran should never have traveled to the human realm, and is shocked when a witch binds them together. His life is hers and he refuses to die. He saves her from the fires, casts a hex on the townsfolk for good measure, then whisks her away to safety. His only stipulation? She has to remove the binding curse.

Enjoyable read with a few draw backs.
Revisado: 01-14-24
I finished the book feeling relatively satisfied. I only gave 3 stars because the outcome of the climax felt a little rushed and I didn’t completely understand what happened and why. In addition I didn’t really feel emotionally engaged to the characters until about half way through when we finally get the backstory on the main character—we got there in the end but the author could have helped us connect a little earlier.
As a person trying to develop my own writing skills in this genre, I learned a lot from this book about character development and timing (in the best way). I’m glad I read it not only for my learning, but I was quite satisfied by the overall story. Is it the same level of JK Rowling (5stars)? No. Is it still an enjoyable read from a growing author. Absolutely.

Awesome story with the perfect narrator

Point blank (first book in the series) was good. Take down is amazing. The best book I’ve read this year, and I really like books. Just get it already.

It is the morning of the reaping that will kick off the 10th annual Hunger Games. In the Capitol, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow is preparing for his one shot at glory as a mentor in the Games. The once-mighty house of Snow has fallen on hard times, its fate hanging on the slender chance that Coriolanus will be able to out charm, outwit, and outmaneuver his fellow students to mentor the winning tribute. The odds are against him. He’s been given the humiliating assignment of mentoring the female tribute from District 12, the lowest of the low.

Great book, bad “singing”
Revisado: 04-14-23
The narrator mostly does a good job but please please go back and fix the songs! It feels like he chants them and it just makes me cringe every time. In the hunger games recording they’re sung. It looses its effect when the songs are just spoken.
