Historia
NYPD Detective Declan Shaw gets a call: How fast can you get to the Beresford building on Central Park West? In the tower apartment, Shaw finds a woman waiting for him. She’s covered in blood. A body is lying dead on the floor of the luxurious living room. Every book in the apartment’s floor-to-ceiling shelves is by the same author: bestselling true-crime writer Denise Morrow."This is you?" Shaw asks the woman. "You're a writer?" Only one person knows the ending to this story. Is it the victim or the killer?

A friendless science geek and a feisty sci-fi fanatic, Rowan and Nova are cut from a different bit of cloth. They don't always get along, but they may be the only ones with enough guts and smarts to save their missing classmates from something straight out of Nova's imagination. Horrid narration
Revisado: 08-15-17
I have to be totally honest, I spent so much time trying to adjust the speed of the playback that I am not really sure what the book is about. After listening for 5 hours I had to draw the line for how much of my time I'd give this audiobook. The narrator reads like a child reading a Dick and Jane book. It was excruciatingly slow. After a few hours of listening I gave up. I can't give a fair star rating so I went with 3.
I was given a free copy of the audiobook for my honest review, and I wish I could actually review the book, but as I said, the narration was terrible and I couldn't suffer any longer.

She got me good!
Revisado: 02-23-17
It's easy to see why there is a comparison to Girl on the Train and Gone Girl. Behind Her Eyes is told in the same manner. Chapters come from different people, and from their point of view. What isn't the same as either of those is the way it ends. Not the way it twists at the end, but the EXTRA twist at the VERY end. I'd figured it out just over halfway through, but I didn't take it far enough. I absolutely love that this had me fooled. It's hard to do when I read as much as I do, and Sara Pinborough got me good! Great story, deep characters, and excellent narration by Anna Bentinck, Josie Dunn, Bea Holland, and Huw Parmenter.

Historia
Aggie Malone is a dedicated young cop who has spent her entire life just looking for a place to call home. She never thought she'd find it in a quaint Florida village called Dogleg Island, where almost nothing ever happens. Deputy Ryan Grady is an easygoing playboy who carries a surf board in the trunk of his patrol car and lives in the same rambling beach cottage his grandfather built 70 years ago. He grew up on Dogleg Island and can't imagine ever living anywhere else. It's always been the most peaceful place he has ever known.

Narration ruined this
Revisado: 01-02-17
The problem with audiobooks is that if the person reading has a monotone voice, it can be hard for them to show emotion in the characters they're reading. I'm going to guess that this is why the narrator read as she did, and not because she's just bad.
With that being said, the story itself was not bad, I liked it. I would listen to another in this series, with a different narrator that is. The dog in the story is lovable, as is the main character. The mystery was a good one, and grew quite intense as the story came to its climax. I recommend the book, not the audiobook, however.

Great YA PNR
Revisado: 12-15-16
This story was basic, and simple. The perfect combination for a teen romance. The vernacular is definitely current teen, made apparent by the use of "anyways" and "you don't even know". Although slightly annoying to me, it's fine for the audience this is most likely written for. The over arching storyline is quite interesting, and I will be happy to read the next installment when it's released. The narrator was very good with different characters, and had a nice voice acting quality to her. No dull reading of the text. This is certainly worth the listen!
Disclosure: I was gifted this audiobook in return for an honest review.

Better than expected
Revisado: 10-03-16
I only read this book because it was given to me in a book exchange. I used one of my audible credits so I could listen as I read. Before the first chapter was over the Narrator had me thoroughly engrossed. He was so amazing, and the story was so interesting that I listened nonstop and finished it in one day.
The story is more than one type of story. It's more than the story of Mr Iverson. It's a story about perception. Perception of ourselves and each other, and the assumptions we make.
It's a terrific book, excellent writing, and spot on narration. Read it, better still, listen to it.

Historia
Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer. Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries....

I was into the book from the first sentence. It was fun, interesting, and has a great foundation for more books. I'm happy I have this book a shot.

Too slow and cliche
Revisado: 04-06-16
I won the 4 audio books in this series, and was so excited for my chance to review them. Not so much now.
I mostly read by audio book, and I can listen to almost any narrator and find a way to like them. This narrator had a nice enough voice, but I had to listen at 1.5 speed just to make her sound normal. She spoke so slow I was laughing. I actually made my husband listen so we could laugh together.
Then there is the story. It's just boring. Boring and cliche. I feel terrible that I won this series, and have no desire at all to listen to another word. I may try the next book at a later date, but for now I am moving on to something else.

Historia
It had been perfect at first for the four young people. Friends since their broken childhoods, now they stood together at the threshold of adulthood. They were a family by choice, not by nature. When supplies dwindled and society failed, so did the rules of civilization and the mountain closed in. Not all predators walk on four legs.

Very good!
Revisado: 04-06-16
This was a very good thriller. I had my doubts at first, but the narrator (Joe Hempel) kept me listening.
The story itself was interesting, and takes a turn that I was not expecting (a rare thing in thrillers). Ultimately, I was glad I kept listening. A little warning, this story has some graphic imagery, and can be a little hard to listen to/read.
I found a new author I like, and a new narrator that I love. I am very lucky that I was able to receive a free copy of this audible book for my honest, if not simple, review.

Better than average YA book
Revisado: 12-21-15
I did not see this story coming! I figured I'd give it a listen, and find myself entertained by the usual YA type of book. I was so wrong, and so happy to be wrong. The only assumption that can be safely made about Emm Cole's book is that it is about young adults. Past that, it's nothing I expected.
A town filled with secrets, magic, and terrible visions is just the beginning of what makes this story strange and fascinating at the same time. The narrator, Pamela Lorence, did a wonderful job. Her voice is easy to listen to, which made it easy for me to "read" for long periods.
If you know of any young adults (or not so young, such as myself) who are in need of something to read, this will not disappoint!
