Historia
In AD 533, the last Vandal ruler in North Africa consults an oracle on how to defeat the invading Byzantine army. The oracle tells the king that a high priestess cast a curse upon the Vandal Kingdom after a sacred scroll was stolen. In order to lift the curse, the scroll must be returned to its rightful home. But the kingdom falls before the scroll is found, leaving its location a great mystery...until a current day archaeological dig, funded by Sam and Remi Fargo, uncovers some vital clues.

Historia
Critically acclaimed author Margaret Peterson Haddix’s fourth tale from her popular Missing series finds Jonah and Katherine hurtled through time to 1611. Landing aboard Henry Hudson’s ship in James Bay just before a mutiny, Jonah and Katherine struggle to survive brutal weather conditions. They also realise something is wrong. A crucial person has vanished, and the history they remember is drastically different from what they're experiencing. Will this new version of history replace the real past?

If you've liked all the rest of the stories you're going to like this one it is a little complicated at times, and a more interesting. With the new people from the last book and also what seconded it makes quite an interesting twist read to find out what happens

Run!
Revisado: 08-29-13
What made the experience of listening to The Maze Runner the most enjoyable?
I'll keep it short. Very enjoyable book. The story has a very slow build up. However, if you can stick with it, the story does ramp up quite a lot and the pace really picks up at the end. It leave a fairly decent cliffhanger that keeps the reader looking forward toward book 2. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes sci-fi and the dystopian society genre.
What other book might you compare The Maze Runner to and why?
The Giver, Hunger Games, Divergent, and similar
Have you listened to any of Mark Deakins’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Nope
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The story became very suspenseful toward the end.

Any additional comments?
I am a Sci-Fi junkie. This was an excellent read. The first chapter really propels the story. By the end of the story, I couldn't wait to pick up the next one.

Not what I expected

Any additional comments?
Wrinkle in Time is one of my top 10 favorite books. After reading and totally devouring A Wrinkle in Time and growing to love the characters, I was disappointed in the sequel. I felt like there was something missing without the Mrs W's. I also felt that the story lacked the vitality and compelling conflict of its predecessor. I am not sure if I will continue the series.

If you could sum up The Hunger Games in three words, what would they be?
This Book ROCKS!
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Hunger Games?
I saw the movie prior to reading the book. After reading the book I had a deeper understanding of so much that was left out of the movie or glossed over. Now the creepy creatures at the end of the movie that chase Katniss and Peter to the cornucopia seem so disconnected in the movie actually make sense.

Out-Freaking-Standing
What did you like best about this story?
I would be simpler to ask me what I DIDN'T like about the story. And my answer would be that I am not a fan of first-person present perspective. Once I got past that, I couldn't help but be swept away with the story.
What about Carolyn McCormick’s performance did you like?
Excellent! I really felt like she WAS Katniss.

Unexpected
Revisado: 03-29-13
What made the experience of listening to Fated the most enjoyable?
The author does a really good job binging the lore of the Native American folklore into a modern story and makes it feel like it lives.
What does Brittany Pressley bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I think I enjoyed the performance as much if not more than I enjoyed the story. This is one of those books that I am not sure I would have finished if I had just picked it up to read on my one.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I got teared up at a couple of points, but I am an easy to move when I read.
Any additional comments?
The story lags at a couple of points and there are moments where the author unexpectedly jumps the timeline and leaves the reader behind to catch up with her. But other than those little technicalities, the story is really fun and easy to follow.
