Hey you guys, it’s Leslie. I’m excited to share my story with you. Now, I’m gonna be honest: Some of the details might be vague because a b*tch is fifty-five and she’s smoked a ton of weed. But while bits might be a touch hazy, I can promise you the underlying truth is REAL.

FUNNY ... Really Funny
Revisado: 11-02-23
I appreciate the honesty Leslie Jones delivered in her memoir. It had me laughing and crying and respecting her more and more with each phase of her life. I especially loved the way she talked about her parents and their struggles and the love she had for them, flaws and all. Great job and no apologies for the language because it is a part of who Leslie is.

Fabulous Performance, Powerful Memoir
Revisado: 05-23-23
Jenifer put her full humanity on stage and granted us a front row seat to her intimate struggles and victories. Every young woman should be required to listen to her story. It is rich, vibrant, full of raw truth that educates and entertains like nobody has done before. It's beautifully written and her performance is first class. I am personally grateful that I was blessed to select this audiobook.

Stopped At "The America We Deserve"
Revisado: 11-17-22
This is a great "1-Stop Shopping" book for the next generation to get a summary of Trump's Presidency and entire life. But for me as a living witness to the constant assaults on democracy and daily insults to anyone and everyone was too much for me to experience again. I stopped at Chapter 8, "The America We Deserve", whether you love him or hate him; we as a nation deserve to move on and rise above the chaos.

Strong Powerful Super "SHeroes"
Revisado: 10-11-22
Ms. Dahlia, VERY Well done. I am grateful to you for elevating women in the trenches is such a passionate, powerful way. The women you showcased already have a celebrity status in most cases, but, you went behind the scenes to show the dogged work, tireless efforts, unseen challenges and obstacles they all faced to seek justice. Your portrait of the life-saving, life-changing women is worth the spot light and opportunity to inspire the next generation. This book should be mandatory reading for all High School Senior Girls. Young women are often bombarded with the Kardashians, Beyonce and other amazing celebrities that have their truth to tell; but they are wrapped in so much glamor it looks almost easy. As far as the audible narration, it was difficult at times to follow so I was happy to have my eBook available to slow down and read many parts over and over.

Historia
Ascending to the leadership role of US Attorney for the Southern District, which includes Manhattan and several counties to the north, is a capstone to any legal career: it entails guiding a team of the best lawyers in America in selecting and winning cases that often have global import. Geoffrey Berman was honored to be tapped for the job by Donald Trump in 2018. The manner in which Trump had dispatched his predecessor Preet Bharara was troubling, but the institution was fabled for its independence. Surely he could manage.

Powerful Truth, Valuable Insight. Great Read.
Revisado: 09-15-22
"Holding the Line", means upholding democracy; its a tough high-wire act that is not for the feint of heart. Geoffrey Berman shows how he spoke truth to power under extreme pressure and did the right things at the right time. This is not the usual tell all book to make money after leaving office or an attempt at self-redemption. Every chapter is enlightening and valuable to know the rest of the story behind the "Breaking News". He did not have to grab every headline to be a champion for truth and justice; he simply honored the oath he took to lead the SDNY. His choices, his integrity, his passion for justice helped save democracy while he steered the ship.

In We’ve Got To Try, O’Rourke shines a spotlight on the heroic life and work of Dr. Lawrence Aaron Nixon and the west Texas town where he made his stand. The son of an enslaved man, Nixon grew up in the Confederate stronghold of Marshall, Texas before moving to El Paso, becoming a civil rights leader, and helping to win one of the most significant civil and voting rights victories in American history: the defeat of the all-white primary. His fight for the ballot spanned 20 years and twice took him to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Powerful, Sobering Raw Truth that inspires
Revisado: 09-09-22
I love the title "We've Got to Try" because it applies to every aspect of our lives. I appreciate this book so much because it gives a straight forward history lesson for Texans that impacts the lives of all Americans in every state. I love the author's passion for tenacity and perseverance, it is truly infectious and inspiring. I am a "simple, everyday nobody" that can see that powerful changes come from people just like me. It is the will and determination to make America live up to its ideals of justice and equality that eventually win the day over long periods of time; sometimes our life times. I especially recommend this book for young people from High School to young adulthood.

They Want to Kill Americans is the first detailed look into the heart of the active Trump-led insurgency, setting the stage for a second nation-wide rebellion on American soil. This is a chilling and deeply researched early warning to the nation from a counterterrorism intelligence professional: America is primed for a possible explosive wave of terrorist attacks and armed confrontations that aim to bring about a Donald Trump led dictatorship.

The Ugly Truth About Ugly Americans
Revisado: 08-29-22
Malcolm Nance rings the 5 Alarm Bell, Breaks Glass, Shouts “House on Fire”!
Warning, this book is not for the faint of heart and not an easy read; but it is more important to get through it to expand our knowledge of the world that we do not see.
Every chapter is an incessant drum beat of alarming historical and hysterical facts designed to throw cold water on our faces, shake us, rattle us, and jolt us out of our zombie stupor of denial. The threat is no longer a noise coming from the basement or creaks in the attic; it is a full occupation of our house. Opposition to America’s Democracy is the battle that is being fought across this country in every community, church, school, government state house, and social media platform. White supremacy, evangelical ideology, Christian nationalism has many names, but one undeniable purpose to grab power and dismantle American democracy.
Read this book if you want to know how we got here, on the verge of political collapse after years of chaos and lawlessness. Read if you need a wakeup call to defend what’s left of America’s right to self-govern. If you think this is exaggerated hyperbole, then just consider; "What if only half of what he writes is true?"

This is an easily digestible argument about what rights we have, what rights Republicans are trying to take away, and how to stop them. Mystal explains how to protect the rights of women and people of color instead of cowering to the absolutism of gun owners and bigots. He explains the legal way to stop everything from police brutality to political gerrymandering, just by changing a few judges and justices. He strips out all of the fancy jargon conservatives like to hide behind and lays bare the truth of their project to keep America forever tethered to its slaveholding past.

Brilliant, Passionate and Brutal
Revisado: 08-12-22
The obvious brilliance of Elie Mystal can be missed if you are distracted by his passionate profanity. Some truths require a straight talker to deliver raw reality in a way that gets our attention and helps us understand. The gravity of manipulating the constitution to construct oppressive court rulings that undermine the fundamental principal of a free and fair democratic society is the crucial message of this book. Read it if you want to know how our law makers have brought us to the brink of civil war and a failed democratic society. Read it if you want to open your mind to new ways to interpret the constitution and redesign the Supreme Court to truly promote equality, freedom and liberty for all Americans.

Kiara and her brother, Marcus, are barely scraping by in a squalid East Oakland apartment complex optimistically called the Regal-Hi. Both have dropped out of high school, their family fractured by death and prison. Story Okay-Not Great, Writing Style Unique
Revisado: 08-03-22
You don't have to love it to enjoy many aspects of this novel. The author has a very unique writing style that is enjoyable and intriguing to read. I got caught up in how she described the characters and the experiences more than the actual plot line. If you enjoy getting lost in a story with rhythm and emotion, this is a good escape.

Historia
This is the authoritative, “deeply reported” (The Wall Street Journal) account of an eighteen-month crisis in American democracy that will be seared into the country’s political memory for decades to come. With stunning, in-the-room detail, New York Times reporters Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns show how both our political parties confronted a series of national traumas, including the coronavirus pandemic, the January 6 attack on the Capitol, and the political brinksmanship of President Biden’s first year in the White House.

Revisado: 07-13-22
If you don't know the background of Trump's impeachments and insurrection this book gives a summary of events; otherwise, it is too repetitive. The January 6 Commission continues to reveal more new information that all the other investigative journalists and books could not uncover.
