When Dion Fortune wrote Aspects of Occultism, "occultism" was an umbrella word used to describe hidden lore, secret traditions, and arcane knowledge. Today, when the word "occult" is often confused for "cult," and all its negative aspects, Fortune's essays would be better referred to as "esoteric studies."

An occult classic!

Dion Fortune is awesome! She's definitely one of my favorite occult authors. Aspects of Occultism is an occult classic and a great book to read / listen to for anyone interested in the occult and comparative religion. The narrator does a pretty good job in my opinion.

This is a good book to begin with. Even if you're not a beginner if you haven't read this book you absolutely should. I have been studying magick and Kabbalah for a good while now and I wish I read this book a long time ago. This book clarifies many things and sets you off in a good direction.
