Historia
Salvatore's worst nightmare is taking on a demon, but if he wants to stay at Quest Academy, how will he prove to himself and everyone else that he can succeed? He's going to have to take on an entire floor of a demonic tower before the first semester comes to a close. That's the least of Sal's problems as he navigates through his first student mission away from the school. Sal is more comfortable at the crafting table, but he needs to survive in a reclaimed zone outside of the academy with the worst team of misfits you could possibly imagine.

Not a push over
Revisado: 06-10-24
I dont write many reviews, but for this one it's necessary.
The MC is a sheltered rich kid with confidence/self esteem issues. He is also somehow an altruistic idealist?
The MC is not a push over. He was not even really bullied in this novel from my perspective. He may have been aggressively pushed into doing things that scare him by his teachers, but that wasn't bullying. Not even close. He stood up for himself against his peers, older students and faculty throughout the entire book.
While he does spend a considerable amount of time trying to avoid conflicts, that doesnt make him a wimp or anything like that. There is growth and character development throughout the story and there are still plenty of flaws to be improved upon as the story continues to progress.
Overall this was a great addition.

One of the better harem stories.
Revisado: 01-11-24
Decent story great narration. If I could make one request of the author it would be to either change the MCs magic or do better with using it. It really felt like the MC wasted potentially powerful magic simply because he couldn't use the fire variant.

Could use more details
Revisado: 11-14-23
There is a serious lack of details for any and everything in this story. The MC mentions magic carpets, spell beasts, talisman, needles, and fetishes. He actually describes none of these. What does a needle, which could be some kind of gun in this story, actually look like? What is a fetish, and what does it look like? What are the talismans made of? Describes the spell beasts, please 🙏. And what's up with the spirits, angels, demons, aliens, and leveling. Leveling really doesn't make sense to me, and the author never really gave a clear description of how leveling is supposed to work. I understand that the MC may not understand why things work the way they do, but his observations could use more detail. I will leave it with this. The story is written with the level of detail expected from the second and later books in a series. Not the first.

Historia
Michael has taken the Game by the throat. No longer content to lurk in the shadows, he has started down a path that will inevitably bring him into conflict with the Powers. But the Powers are no easy foes. Nor are they Michael’s only adversaries. Other enemies stir. Some confront him openly, while others watch patiently from the sidelines. A lone wolf no more, and with many of his own pieces in play, Michael may find himself more exposed than he believes. The stakes are high. And the schemes of the players convoluted.

Could've done so much more with 20 hrs
Revisado: 11-14-23
Biggest issue is that everything that happened could've been covered in much less time. I expected for the story to progress more with the length of the book.

Extreme sub-zero temperatures suffocate the surface. Frozen structures of bygone eras span across massive ice-wastes. And the survivors closely guard any technology rediscovered within them. The only escape from the deadly climate is beneath the surface, but that doesn't mean it's safe... Monstrous machines lurk in the depths. Unhinged demigods war against them, dying over and over, treating it all like a game. The depths themselves shift over time, more contraption than rock.

No where near a Litrpg story. Barely a progression story. Aside from those misplaced tags, this is a good post apocalyptic cyberpunk adventure.

Narration is the largest issue
Revisado: 10-18-23
It's hard for me to concentrate on the story and really embrace it. the overall story is good and I don't think that's the issue. the narrator seriously lacks range and that makes it really hard for me. if they pair him with a female narrator moving forward that would help tremendously.

The long pauses are the largest issue
Revisado: 10-16-23
Good first book that left off at a good spot. The MC is OP for her level from day one and her progression is fast. Largest issue with the actual story is the lack of information on how the classes work. Like when the MC reviews her stat screen there is some info that I don't understand and it's never explained. I'm still not sure if that was due to a lack of knowledge within the world or an oversight by the author or what the deal is. It also does not take away from the story in a meaningful way.
The narration was good but not great. There were too many long pauses within a chapter that made things kind of annoying. It's like you think "oh the chapter is ending here?" or " is there going to be a perspective change?" and then the dialogue or internal monologue continues like nothing happened. It's jarring but not enough to ruin the story. A little editing finesse in post would fix this right up. So please do that for book 2!
I'm definitely looking forward to book 2.

When I was summoned to the family estate, I had no idea that my life was about to take a drastic turn. One moment I was good old Arthur, a young man with no real aim in life, the next I was in possession of my first four magical cards, on my way to become a Convoker! But if my grandfather had entrusted this huge responsibility to me, I had to prove worthy. I had to take on the life of an Adventurer and complete our lineage quest—a perilous search and rescue mission in the most treacherous parts of our lands.

This MC is way too trusting of nobility for a peasant. The puzzles were elementary and the MC either lacks foresight or lacks real ambition. Yea, I won't be continuing this one.

Chronic pacifism and plot armor
Revisado: 10-03-23
This is a well written book. If not for the MCs determination not to defend her self under ANY circumstances I would continue the series just to see what happens next. But I can't suffer a person that won't defend themselves when the situation calls for it. Also don't like her decision to cripple a sentient race making them extremely vulnerable to genocide because she doesn't agree with violence. Then there is her plot armor. The author didn't even try to hide it, they just quantified it utilizing one of her stats. So she pumps this stat, like an idiot, and has a legitimate reason to have OP plot armor.
Again, and I'm not being facetious, the book is very well written. Which is why I give an overall rating of 4 stars instead of 3. I just really dislike people that refuse to fight and defend themselves and rely on those stronger to defend them. Which is this MC.

Historia
When Alice Verianna went to sleep, she was just another teen from the Denver suburbs. She definitely didn't expect to be transported to a magical alternate dimension, inhabited by monsters and presided over by a mysterious System. Here, people resemble RPG characters and everyone has access to their own status screens. Grappling with the mechanics of the elusive System isn't the only challenge Alice faces. It seems an underground organization known as the Society of Starry Eyes has taken a particular interest in other dimensions.

From the perspective of a dedicated researcher
Revisado: 09-22-23
I will keep this short, the MC isn't a monster hunter, adventurer or murder hobo. She is a researcher in mind and spirit. Originally from Earth, she finds herself on a new world and struggling for survival. In these Isekai stories we normally get MC's that either whine about what's not fare and become OP due to extreme plot armor or we get MC's that decide to get stronger as fast as possible so they don't have to worry so much about old monsters bullying them in their new "might makes right" world. With some crafting thrown into the mix of course. But that is not this story. This is a story about a girl that will defend herself but will not go looking for danger. She doesn't level to get stronger, she levels for other reasons. It's a completely different perspective and I really enjoyed it. Well done!
