Ditch the modern activist junk
Revisado: 01-22-25
Epic fantasy is an escape for the reader, it’s not designed to be a place to read about mental health issues, gender identities etc. it’s very disappointing to have a series that’s absorbed a decade of the readers time and hundreds of hours listened to, to suddenly become yet another persons attempt to champion modern progressive political ideologies. It’s not what people come to fantasy to read. I’m very disappointed as it seems the author is only going to increase this type of content, likely ruining the rest of the series for those who just wanted a good story and not more preaching. Sanderson didnt feel the need to preach to his audience about his Mormon beliefs, I can’t understand why he feels the need to preach about his progressive politics. Just leave it all behind and get back to good story telling.

Revisado: 07-22-24
It’s solid writing, great characters, good plot, but it’s an emotional ride, not the first for this Expanded Ryieria world, but definitely more than some.

Historia
The man they took prisoner was not the Jonathan Tibbs they remembered. He said that time was running out. That the world faced an enemy it could not defeat. He said everything depended on whether or not they could make a leap of faith. Then, he asked them for five nuclear warheads. The Never Army is the final installment in The Chronicles of Jonathan Tibbs - a mind-bending, genre-crossing, multiple award-winning, action-adventure trilogy.

ambitious!
Revisado: 08-23-21
From the almost humble beginnings of Book 1, book 3 has shifted into a massive, complex, strategic web of story telling. The ending was solid, serving as a good conclusion to story. Not something that can be said of all trilogies. #Rileyforever

Ignore the negative reviews
Revisado: 02-22-19
I saw a number of negative reviews regarding slow plot, and no character development, and i have to say i wonder if these people read the same book. I very much enjoyed the quick pacing (as compared to many much longer and slower books i read) and I have a connection with the characters, as well as the overall story. You should give this a try. It kind of reminds me of the wing commander books.

Historia
From 1939-1946 Americans gathered around their radio to listen to The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, featuring Basil Rathbone as the high-strung crime solver and Nigel Bruce as his phlegmatic assistant, Dr. Watson. Witty, fast-paced and always surprising, these great radio plays, written by the prolific writing team of Anthony Boucher and Denis Green, are as fresh today as they were then.

The golden days of radio
Revisado: 08-24-09
This collection of the golden days of radio, perfectly re-capture the feel of the 1940's. While some point to the petri-wine commercials as annoying, I have always thought of them as an inseparable part of the radio program. Not like today where literally hours of our lives are wasted on pointless commercials. This re-lives a time when commercials were something different. The ever-lovable Nigel Bruce as always lends a lighter foil to the darkness of the stories content. It would be nearly impossible to separate Nigel Bruce and Basil Rathbone from the Conan Doyle cannon of Holmes. For those who do not appreciate this portrayal, I would say it is Anthony Bouncher and Denis Green whom you disprove of, as they are the ones writing these stories. I have personally read every original Holmes case, and most of the expanded cannon of Sherlock Holmes, and listened to many of the recovered radio broadcasts, as well as having seen most of the old movies. I think that anyone who loves Sherlock Holmes will love and appreciate this collection of Sherlock Holmes cases that you will not find elsewhere. Overall, if you are a fan of the golden age of radio, and/or if you are a fan of Sherlock Holmes, you will probably enjoy this greatly. If you are a fan of both, you will be, like myself, thrilled this was recovered from obscurity. As a side note, can anyone tell me if original Petri wine is still available anywhere?
