Historia
Golgotha Falls lies in a desolate and blighted valley in Northern Massachusetts where, in 1919, Father Bernard K. Lovell, priest of the Church of the Eternal Sorrows, fell prey to isolation and despair and entered a dark night of madness, necrophilia, and suicide. Then, in 1978, a Jesuit priest was sent to reconsecrate the church but found himself seized in the foul grip of bestiality. Now, Father Malcolm, a saintly priest, has arrived to do battle with the forces of Satan that have possessed the church.

Great Story. Not great narrator.
Revisado: 07-13-20
.I originally read this when it came out in the 80's and looked forward to hearing it....BUT the narration was awful. My ears were screaming with each Latin and English mispronounciation. For instance, cossacks instead of Cassocks, (which really irritated me as the word is repeated so often in the narrative. The reader struggled with accents. The "Irish brogue" sounded like a series of screeches, and the "Sicilian" accent was horrendous. There were so many mispronounced words in Latin and English that it was a struggle to finish the book. I would never select a book read by this reader again. The overall story of good versus evil is engaging, but the narration ruined the book. Its a shame because DeFelitta is one of my favorite authors.

Good book, wrong narrator
Revisado: 09-18-18
I tried and tried, but I couldn't get past the boring, monotonous narration of this book. I am a Dean Koontz fan, having read almost everything he has written over the years, but I can't get through this one due to the production quality, long pauses, breathy, boring reader.
I will purchase this and the rest of the series for my kindle, and have given up on trying to listen. I, like others, will not purchase another book read by this reader.

Disappointing
Revisado: 04-01-05
I was extremely disappointed in this book. Mystery - no. If you want an exciting read, look elsewhere. If you enjoy endless repetitions and scenes so long and boring that you fall asleep or change books ( As I did several times) look here. After I finally struggled through the entire book, hoping that it would get better, I was rewarded with a nonsense ending....the author ran out of ideas. Not recommended.
