Love Meeting the Kings

I love this series. I was not expecting to love the narrator, but he grew on me. The male characters are strong and the females are relatable. We get to keep tabs on our past friends we know about and get a glimpse into who is coming. I do feel The Vampire King story was a bit rushed but hopefully we get to know more as we move on.

Slow to start

Creepy winter cabins

Shane gets stuck at a lake during a snow storm. Here he fights for his survival as he may be over his head. Frank is looking for him as Shane did not say where he was going and forgot his phone. this book does provide torture scenes, so be warned. This book is one of my favorite in the series and a must read.

Book 4: Hanks Radio
Stefan is still my most hated character ever. Ariana brings in a new character, Bontoc, to kill her brother. So now, Stefan is hiding from Ariana, Bontoc, Victor and the haunted doll Ann. His latest item to cause havoc is a radio to a woman who wants to get revenge. Hank, the radio ghost, only goes after elderly women. In life he murdered several, so in death he continues. Like a sirens’ song, Hank’s voice draws the women in to their death. The fight is an interesting one. Tom gets injured while accidently bumping into Stefan but he meets Bontoc. His needs for vengeance is still there and he pays for it, but meets someone who may help him remember he is still a kid.
Book 5: The Burning Girl
Still hate Stefan. A haunted book carries a teen girl with a love for fire. She was a fire starter in life and killed many folks before she ended up killing herself. She is let loose to kill and destroy using a shy, awkward kid.
Book 6: Knife in the Dark
The ghost is sick. He likes to stab and eat his victim. Surprisingly, the detective who is working the case finds a link to old cases. She is also not a stranger to dealing with ghosts. Everyone is stepping up and helping where they can. While all this is going on, LeAnn from New Orleans is still trying to to get to the bottom of what happened to her friend. We also learn more about her world.

Creepy Mill

Slater Mill reminds me to never go inside abandoned buildings, especially at night, by myself. Frank and Shane are on hunt for the Watchers still, who want nothing more than to kill them. Pierre, ghost, was sadistic in life and even worse in death. Shane’s house ghost also gets to “play” which is not good for the unwanted guests. Story keeps you in till the end.

Nice end to series

I started with book 1 in this series not knowing what to expect. Book 9 has me sad to see it end. Shane and Frank make a great team. Courtney is ready to move on and does happily. We finally see an end to a long time enemy. I could not be happier that I took a chance on this series. Ron Ripley did an amazing job giving us characters that could be your neighbors. Look forward to listening to other books by this author.

Haunted Items Galore

I love the narrator and am currently on book 5.
Collecting Death
I will say that it was hard at first to get into this new series. Once I stayed with it, I was hooked again. We get to meet a new group of folks that quickly became among my favorite characters. We enter a world of haunted objects and learn more about these objects. This book focus on Stefan and his hatred of his parents who were well know collectors of haunted items. So much so he decides to take it out on the world. He starts to sell off his parents’ collection and down the rabbit hole we go. We meet Victor and Jeremy who join forces to track down Stefan and the 3 objects that he sent out, a teddy bear named Wolfe, porcelain doll named Ann, and a teapot.
Walter’s Rifle
I will say that we get to hear from an old friend. Stefan is still up to selling his mom’s haunted collection. This time it is a rifle and the person who has it goes on a killing spree. Victor and Jeremy do what they can to try and stop Stefan while dealing with setbacks. We get to meet a new person, Tom. Sadly he becomes involved because of our “friend” Stefan. This story hits in all the right and wrong places.
Blood in the Mirror
We get to see and hear more about Stefan sister, Ariana. We learn also more about Stefan and Ariana dad, Ivan. We also learn that Ivan, although dead, is very unhappy with Stefan. Stefan is hated even more. We get to hear from Shane and even Frank.
