Historia
Few people knew America's comic sweetheart Lucille Ball the way Lee Tannen did. Lee first met Lucy as a child but cemented their close and enduring friendship as an adult. During the last 10 years of Lucy's life - years mostly lived out of the spotlight and mainly around a backgammon table in New York; Beverly Hills; Snowmass, Colorado; and Palm Springs - Lee was fortunate enough to be sitting opposite Lucy.

HUGELY VALUABLE
Revisado: 03-08-22
The authors accent is sooooo thick it’s almost unbearable to think there are hours ahead of this voice. However as it goes on, you realize this is the voice of one of Lucy’s friends — a voice she would recognize and look forward to hearing. The chronicle of these lost years are invaluable and by the end of the book you wish the authors voice would go on and on and on.
*love the honesty about Gary Morton. As people in LA refer to him, the male Barbara Sinatra.

Historia
Love, Lucy is the valentine Lucille Ball left for her fans—a warm, wise, and witty memoir written by Lucy herself. The legendary star of the classic sitcom I Love Lucy was at the pinnacle of her success when she sat down to record the story of her life. No comedienne had made America laugh so hard, no television actress had made the leap from radio and B movies to become one of the world’s best-loved performers. This is her story—in her own words.

LUCIE ARNAZ MADE THE BOOK
Revisado: 01-11-22
I can see why Lucy didn’t release it. It’s very good just it wasn’t the end of her career then. In fact she got bigger. LUCIE ARNAZ narration made it so much more intimate as she knew how her mother would have spoken it.

Historia
The moving, untold family story behind Abraham Zapruder's film footage of the Kennedy assassination and its lasting impact on our world. Abraham Zapruder didn't know when he ran home to grab his video camera on November 22, 1963 that this single spontaneous decision would change his family's life for generations to come. Originally intended as a home movie of President Kennedy's motorcade, Zapruder's film of the JFK assassination is now shown in every American history class, included in Jeopardy and Trivial Pursuit questions, and referenced in novels and films.

Surprisingly unbelievably captivating
Revisado: 12-16-21
I didn’t expect what I got from this book - which was an amazing context to that day in Dallas and beyond. It is a story like no other, I didn’t want it to end. This is a story that could only happen in America. We have owe a great debt to the Zapruder family and many owe them an apology -especially to the memories of Abraham and Henry who preserved and protected not only the film but the dignity of John F Kennedy in ways that not everyone agreed with - but navigated uncharted terrain with a task no one would ever want to handle with grace. Excellent narration, excellent research, just extremely floored by this story. Brilliant job.

Historia
Though Anderson Cooper has always considered himself close to his mother, his intensely busy career as a journalist for CNN and CBS affords him little time to spend with her. After she suffers a brief but serious illness at the age of ninety-one, they resolve to change their relationship by beginning a yearlong conversation unlike any they have ever had before. The result is a correspondence of surprising honesty and depth in which they discuss their lives, the things that matter to them, and what they still want to learn about each other.

Anna Kendrick's autobiographical collection of essays amusingly recounts memorable moments throughout her life, from her middle-class upbringing in New England to the blockbuster movies that have made her one of Hollywood's most popular actresses today. Expanding upon the witty and ironic dispatches for which she is known, Anna Kendrick's essays offer her one-of-a-kind commentary on the absurdities she's experienced on her way to and from the heart of pop culture.

Hysterical and Essential
Revisado: 07-29-21
Brilliant book, hysterically funny, and filled with life lessons delivered in the most unassuming and relatable way. I saw her on Zac Efron’s show, had known of her and her work… But, on Zac Efron’s show her personality came across in a way that made me want to read the book. So, I got the audiobook - because I don’t really read books anymore. One of the best books I’ve “read” in this genre in a long time.

Great New Information- comprehensive
Revisado: 07-24-19
I’ve read so many books about the queen and the royal family, this delicately weaves - in an expert fashion - the history and personalities that make up the house of Windsor. I would prefer an updated edition as it was published seven years ago, but it is still quite an extraordinary achievement

Historia
They were both born in the 19th century in humble circumstances - Helena Rubinstein in an orthodox Jewish household in Kraków, Poland, Elizabeth Arden on a farm outside Toronto. But by the 1930s, they were bitter rivals in New York, the rulers of dueling international beauty empires that would forever change the way women thought about cosmetics, salons, and wrinkles. This riveting biography brings these two celebrated women to life, revealing the ruthless drive and innovative business strategies that took each to the top.

A Very Biased History
Revisado: 05-06-19
It’s hard to believe any of this book. Not a fan of the Clintons or Obama’s or Biden’s and not a Democrat… But even as a lifelong Republican, I find it odd, to say the least, that every Republican is a wonderful protectee yet every Democrat is abusive, dismissive, mean,… The author writes in such a pejorative way making assumptions outside of the anonymous quoted material. He constantly repeats the negative stories about the Democratic protectees, over and over again - and negative stories are all he has on them. Oddly, he doesn’t say nary a word about Bill Clinton, so I guess I am to assume that maybe he was a decent protectee. Therefore, don’t include him? The only Republican he was dismissive about was Dick Cheney’s lesbian daughter…While there is some anecdotal information, this isn’t at al what I thought or wanted. Sick of the constant new cycle, wanted to escape into presidential history, but the distain of this author makes it hard to believe a word of what is said.

Great one liners.
Revisado: 05-05-19
This is a must for any VEEP fan. The narration starts off slow, in that, JLD and Tony Hale don’t seem fully in character but they get there and until they do they likes are veep quality brilliant ‘One of those people that makes you want to deep throat a shotgun 40 times a fucking day.’
I can’t imagine that the book is as entertaining in the print version, however it is definitely hysterical in this form
