Historia
Carlos Santana’s Light, Spirit, and Soul is a rhythmic journey into the places, spaces, artists, and music that have inspired and informed one of popular music’s most successful artists by any measurable standard. He’s not an entertainer. He’s a communicator of a language that speaks directly to the molecules of listeners across space and time. These are his Words + Music.

A Musical Learning Experience
Revisado: 01-11-23
The story line was fantastic. The music chosen was a perfect fit as well. An individual who loves music and the story behind the artist should listen to this.

Historia
If any artist could brag about his contribution to the pop culture canon, it’s Smokey Robinson. His career is filled with so many “he was there” moments it’s a wonder he doesn’t recall them with the swagger of a conquering hero: songwriting and singing as a teenager in Detroit; co-founding Motown Records with Berry Gordy; creating 26 Top 40 hits with his group The Miracles; helping to spark racial integration of popular music in the 1960s; discovering hitmakers like Diana Ross and the Supremes; penning tunes for a jaw-droppingly diverse group of artists.

Fantastic Blessing Indeed
Revisado: 12-26-22
I really enjoyed this. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys knowing about the legends themselves but having them tell their own story. There is nothing that I did not like.

We all make bad decisions. It's part of being human. The resulting mistakes can be valuable, the story goes, because we learn from them. But do we? Historian Zachary Shore says no, not always, and he has a long list of examples to prove his point.

Examples illustrated with unfamiliar examples
Revisado: 01-16-09
The author provides some good tips but I feel that he could have chosen people for his examples that readers would be more familiar with. I found myself listening to the book just to see what new tips each chapter would offer but by the time I got to chapter 8, I could not go any further.
