Absolutely love this entire series. Clever stories, quirky characters and a human, flawed protagonist (who should weigh 500 lbs with the amount he eats). And then there's the narrator. His talent with voices and accents is remarkable and he brings each story to life. The cherry on top is the doggy. Ruff ruff.

Historia
In Moonlight Bay, children are disappearing. From their homes. From the streets. And there’s nothing their families can do about it. Because here, the police work their hardest to conceal crimes and silence victims. No matter what happens in the night, their job is to ensure that nothing disturbs the peace and quiet of Moonlight Bay. Christopher Snow isn’t afraid of the dark. Forced to live in the shadows because of a rare genetic disorder, he knows the night world better than anyone. He believes the lost children are still alive and that their disappearance is connected to the town’s most carefully kept, most ominous secret....

Good story...
Revisado: 02-27-21
Always a big Dean Koontz fan. Owned this back when on cassette. Still a good 2-book story but I was disappointed it was not narrated by Keith Szarabajka as it was originally. John Glouchevitch is a decent narrator but he makes little differentiation in his voice characterizations and he could use more emotion in his reading.

The best-selling author presents a heart-pounding account of the world's greatest nuclear disaster, based on sources not available before the fall of the Soviet Union. Read's enthralling account is filled with acts of courage - and also bumbling confusion, secrecy, lies, and coverups. Read spent many months in Russia interviewing hundreds of survivors and experts.

Read this in hardback. Was glad to see it in Audible. Good thorough account of what happened that day. My one little complaint is most of the firefighters who died were referred to as "the fireman" instead of by name. The book is brimming with names for others involved in the tragedy. The firefighters deserve to be named as well.

Historia
Since graduating from Whisperwood School for Boys, William has found a sense of normalcy in his life with James. He has a steady (albeit secret) relationship, a home, and a job - even if it doesn't pay the greatest. Never mind that he lacks James' reckless bravery when it comes to dealing with spirits; he does his best, and it hasn't killed him thus far. When a new client calls on their expertise in solving a grisly multiple homicide, William resists. They're spirit hunters, not detectives. But the money is too much to pass up when they don't know when their next meal will be.

Descent Story...But...
Revisado: 04-25-20
I was terribly disappointed when I found Kale Williams was not narrating this book. Much of my pleasure and enjoyment of the first book was because of his beautiful voice. I found my attention wandering through A Hymn because of the narration. Nothing against Joel Leslie but, when you already have the timbre and tone of emotion set up in your mind only to have it jarringly disrupted, it certainly takes one right out of the story.

Historia
James Spencer is hardly the typical troubled youth who ends up at Whisperwood School for Boys. Instead of hating the strict schedules and tight oversight by staff, James blossoms, quickly making friends, indulging in his love of writing, and contemplating the merits of sneaking love poems to the elusive and aloof William Esher. And, when the normally collected William stumbles in one night, shaken and ranting of ghosts, James is the only one who believes him.

A Light Amongst (Story) Shadows
Revisado: 04-24-20
A truly perfect combination of exquisite story and outstanding narration. This spooky, funny, sad, lovely tale was one of the best I've heard or read in awhile, and I read ALOT. There's usually one or two things I'm disappointed with, even in stories I enjoy. Not a disappointment to be found in this one. Kale Williams...utter perfection. I could listen to him read a phone book. Highly recommended.

I'm always so happy when a new adventure is published. I cackle wildly through each one. Mr. Sanders, you must learn to write much faster! Re: the narration, I enjoy Mr. Rollins' reading but he tends to change voices for already established secondary characters from book to book. Nana, Harry & Angela all have different accents as opposed to when each was first introduced. Other than that, another rousing good time!

An intriguing story made even more engrossing by a talented narrator. Each character was brought vividly to life, and death, by Thom Bowers. Ron Ripley's stories are , as always , easy to get lost in.
