Historia
The Deathwatch are the elite of the elite - small teams of Space Marines handpicked for special missions that require the utmost courage and cunning. Now recovered from the injuries sustained on his previous mission, Codicier Karras must lead Talon Squad in the hunt for a missing inquisitor. Their only clue is the name of an Imperial planet that has been taken over by the T’au. Is the missing inquisitor alive or dead? Worse still, has she gone rogue, jeopardising one of the Inquisition’s most secret projects?

An unfocused and unsatisfying story
Revisado: 01-21-25
This story has a lot of good elements but ultimately fails to unify them into a coherent and interesting story. The Death Watch Marines especially were all over the place. The POV Librarian Marine was compelling, and so were the Excorcist and the Lementer Dreadnaught, but all the others ranged from petty and annoying to incompitent and downright childish. Overall the author should have turned this into two books and hired a better editor. The narrator was decent with all neutral, asian and british accents but struggled a lot with others, not a deal breaker but it definitely took me out of the story several times. If you're desperate for Deathwatch vs Tau go ahead and read it, but if not I'd recommend saving your credit for one of the much better Warhammer novels.

Historia
When the perfidious t’au bring down a valkyrie containing an Astra Militarum general on the besieged Imperial world of Dasht i-Kevar, all could be lost—what the general knows could break the war effort, and see the planet fall under the control of the vile xenos. Only the Kasrkin stand a chance at bringing him back. They are the elite of the elite, but the enemy that Captain Bharath Obeysekera and his squad are called upon to fight is unlike any they have faced before—the desert itself, endless and implacable

An Eleven-Hour Snooze Fest
Revisado: 06-05-23
The description of this book implies some kind of genuine struggle between a group of Kasrkin and the military forces of the Tau Empire. It's framed as an exciting race against time to rescue a senior officer in a hostile environment. What this author actually delivered was a snail-paced, 4 way conversation in the desert between an officer, a sergeant, a daddy's-boy commisar, and a cast of one dimensional soldiers. The majority of the cast is so unimportant that the majority of them die in half a line of text or "off screen". There isn't a single Tau in the whole book aside from drones, one Devil Fish, and some Kroot near the finale.
The book only begins to get slightly interesting when they run into the desert people, but the way they present them, and the casual and understanding way the officer deals with a non-sanctioned psycher is baffling. In fact, the strangest part of this story is how every single member of the Astra Militarum in this book is completely chill with psychers and xenos from the outset. It's just so odd. I feel like the author wanted to write an introspective SciFi novel in a different setting, but got stuck with writing a 40k Novel.
Frankly the only interesting things in this whole story are the Kroot Kinband and the senile Necrom Tomb Lord, all of which are very briefly focused on and are only introduced when you've slogged about two-thirds of the way through this novel.
All in all it's not worth the price or the time. There are far better novels about both the Guard and Xenos available.

An overall Good Mixed Bag
Revisado: 02-28-23
A decent collection of stories overall and some good perspectives of "non-super" human characters working for various Imperial Agencies. Some stories are pretty bad though. The Greyfax, Assassinorum, and Blackstone Fortress stories in particular were very hard to take seriously. A mix of cringey diologue and overly grandiose voice-acting in my opinion. It's a bit disappointing, as I've come to expect high quality from all Warhammer 40k Novels. Worth the listen I think though, even if only to listen to the Eisenhorn stories.

Originally written for the pulp magazines of the 1920s and '30s, H. P. Lovecraft's astonishing tales blend elements of horror, science fiction, and cosmic terror that are as powerful today as they were when first published. This tome brings together all of Lovecraft's harrowing stories, including the complete Cthulhu Mythos cycle, just the way they were when first released.

I bought this wanting to listen to the actual book. It's only a collection of the more popular works of HP Lovecraft.

Historia
The end of the Second World War in Europe is one of the 20th century's most iconic moments. It is fondly remembered as a time when cheering crowds filled the streets, danced, drank and made love until the small hours. These images of victory and celebration are so strong in our minds that the period of anarchy and civil war that followed has been forgotten. Across Europe, landscapes had been ravaged, entire cities razed and more than thirty million people had been killed in the war.

Some say that this work, found in a safe-box in the port area of Kowloon, was dictated because Bronze Age Pervert refuses to learn what he calls "the low and plebeian art of writing". It isn't known how this work was transcribed. The contents are pure dynamite. He explains that you live in ant farm. That you are observed by the lords of lies, ritually probed. Ancient man had something you have lost: confidence in his instincts and strength, knowledge in his blood. BAP shows how the Bronze Age mind-set can set you free from this iron prison and help you embark on the path of power.

While I don't resonate with everything in this book, I can definitely say young European men should read it. It captures the essence of what it means to be a man among men. It is a call to strength and a must read.
